mentionedabove,theTrustees are consciousthatitsactivities
mustbeaffordable.TheTrustees havethediscretiontoreduce
membership subscriptionpayments andfinancial supportis

in competitions.

Facetofaceactivities were graduallyresumedasrestrictions
werelifted: firstoutdoorsandthenareturnto ourrehearsal
venue,withprecautions inplacetominimisetheriskof
infection. Wehavecontinuedto offeranonline optionforthose
who areunableto attendin person, duetoinfectionconcerns.
Membersreceived coaching andinstructionfrom theMusical
Directorandexternalcoaches,both onlineand in-person. The
aim,asalways,istoimprovesingingtechniqueandthe
preparation ofsongsforperformancetoawideraudience.
However,thisyear,wehavealsofocussed onvocal health,aswe
havereturnedtosingingtogetheraftermonths apart.
lnJune,weranafree online"LovetoSing" course,whichwas
attendedbyover30women,withwhom we wereabletoshare
theenjoyment ofa Capellaandbarbershopsinging and even
teachsometechnique.We aredelightedthat8ofthemhave
sincejoinedtheclub.
Performances:Liveperformanceshave been severelyrestricted,
duringthepandemic.We produced another video ofanewsong,
which wehave been abletoshareonline. Wehadplanneda
Christmas Concert in aidoffundsforthecommunityhall,which
isour new home,butduetocontinuingCovid concerns,thishas
beendeferred.Wehostedaregional eventforLABBS(our
parent organisation) inNovember,which enabledmembersof
manydifferentchorusestoshareadayofcoaching and singing.
This gaveusthe opportunitytoperformsomesongstoan
audience.
Competitions:Competing againstotherchorusesis avery
effectiveway of focussingon improvement. Therehave been no
competitions this year, but wearepreparing for the Oxford
Music Festivalin Jan2021.
