## **Enable Busoga   Trustees’ Annual Report for 2023** 

Enable Busoga made significant financial contributions to FLEP throughout 2023 in support of their administration function from which their 50+ Health Centres are co-ordinated and supplied, finances are controlled and bids for specific project funding are prepared and managed. 

Enable Busoga continued to support tree planting at a number of church sites, schools and farms in Busoga through its Uganda partner Transcending Hope Uganda. The financing covered the purchase and transportation of tree seedlings, the collection and germination in-situ of seeds, the training of personnel at each site on tree planting and aftercare together with regular and frequent performance monitoring during the months after planting. The primary aim of the project was to sequester carbon for offsetting, though other benefits such as soil consolidation and increased agricultural yield are anticipated. 

A key leader of the tree planting community group was assisted with his important medical bills, which he would otherwise not have been able to afford while a health worker was given a bereavement grant 

Work with schools has now transferred to a local organisation called PAMENAS which assists girls to remain in education and equips them with skills such as tailoring and animal husbandry.
