The club's trustees have given careful consideratlon to the relevant guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit: Membership of SWCC is completely open. There is no waiting list and tha trustees believe that the subscriptions set for each season are affordable for the majority of the local community. Subscriptions may be reduced or waiv8d for those with less financial means. There is no test of skill for membership. M6mbership is available to all members of the public who wish to join. SWCC provides facilities to play and practlse cricket across the entire range of cricketing ability. •opportunities for playing cricket are only available to members, not least because it is a requirement of the varlous competitions in which SWCC tskes part that players should be bona fide members of the dub. Notwithstanding the above, the club's maln ground is made available, free of charge, for a local Kwik Cricket league Involving local prlmary schools, for the 'Chance to Shine, charity and also to the Saffron Walden Rounders Club, Saffron Tri, Saffron Striders and womens, fitness group. • And finally, no charge is made for admission for spectstors wishing to watch the matches taking placo. Section D Achievements and performance 2024 was a year of mixed fortunes. Summary ofthe maln achl8vem6nts of tho charlty durlng the year At a senior level our teams underperfomied and the weather caused the cancellation or abandonment of a number of matches. As a consequence teams were relegated and our overall income was also reduced which in turn reduced the amount available to the charity. The underperformance was caused in part by playing in a semi-professional 8nvironm8nt aoainst t8gms who rgw2id nlsjvoro finAnp.iAlly .Raffrnn Walden Cricket Club does not do this. Our players are, by and large, local and enjoy the club for what it is. However, at tha junior level our Academy contSnues to thriv8 with numbers continulng to recover following th8 loss of memb8rs during COVID. This relates particularly to the undar 13-16 age group. Indeed, our undar 15 8quad reached the finals of the national cup competition. Off the field th8 club continues to 8njoy the support of the local Town Council, Cambridgeshlre and Essex Cricket Boards and a wide variety of local Sponsors. We held a very successful club dlnner wllh over 90 guess and two lunches for vice presidents and supporters which attracted almost 200 guests In total. Our governing body (ECB) quallty mark {Clubmark) was r8n8wed. TAR March 2012

Section E Financial review I It is the club's intention to budget for a break even position each year. Our unrestricted reserves therefore comprise ground machinery and other equipment vital to the operation of the club's main ground at the Anglo American Playing Fields and a working capital balance sufficient to meet ongoing costs through the close season. Restricted reserves relate to the net cages and the development of the Nursery End.
