Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The club continues to thrive and to provide playing and social opportunities for a wide range of local people. We have over 800 people on our database including almost 300 young people between the ages of 4 and 16. We run 30 teams across all ages including men, women, girls and disabled with each group having opportunities to be coached as well as to play cricket. Numbers in the 11-16 age group have not recovered post-COVID but our numbers in the 4-10 age group have and are very healthy.

Saffron Walden Cricket Club is an amateur club run by volunteers and very well supported by the wider community in the form of sponsors, advertisers, vice-presidents, former players and supporters.

We do have the services of a professional groundsman which ensures our cricketers play on one of the finest surfaces in the region. We have won the Best Kept Ground in the East Anglian Premier League in 6 out of the last 10 years.

We work closely with both the Essex and Cambridgeshire cricket boards. We also continue to work well with local schools supplying coaches to over 20 primary schools via our Chance to Shine programme, organising assemblies to promote the club and hosting district tournaments.

Our Trustees and Executive Committee have continued to meet on a regular basis and our finances remain stable.
