## **Section D**

Achievements and In our **6[th] full year as a charity** , we passed a milestone of over £0.25m in donations since we started. Performance – to 30-SepOur community has grown to **281 people with PMS** now (was just over 100 when we began in 2014). 2020 Highlights for this financial year include:

   - Record levels of **financial Awards to UK/I families – over £31,000** in the year to 30-Sept 2020

   - This includes prioritizing financial support for people with PMS during the Covid-19 pandemic through two sets of **‘Covid-19 awards’** in April and July 2020 where we awarded in total **approx. £12,000** through 120 awards

   - Continued to make our regular awards at the end of September 2019, January 2020 and May 2020.

   - **No regional gatherings** , due to the pandemic – so will plan to support meet-ups next year / as soon as circumstances allow

   - Despite the pandemic’s impact, our **financial donations** were higher than any of the previous 3 years. Total donations were **just under £41,000** , incl. a £5,000 grant from Genetic Disorders UK to help fund our 2019 UK/I Family Day.

   - Raised funds and awareness again in 2019-2020 through the **sale of Seasonal Cards** .

   - Provided **donations of £2,000 to PMSF and to PMSF Research** (co-ordinated by the Global Foundation)

   - Continued to maintain the **PMSF UK website** as a key source of information for families and supporters.

   - Continued social media presence through **Facebook** (448 page likes / followers)

   - Continued to support UK-based EU AIMS research initiative

- Plans for 2020-2021 • At year-end, we have a healthy cash balance – so that our **awards programme** can continue in 2021

   - We will resume **family days** (likely regional in 2021, if circumstances permit) and will plan for a next UK-wide meet-up now 2022.

## **Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of PMSF UK**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of PMSF UK for the year ended 30 September 2020.

## **Responsibilities and basis of the report**

As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of PMSF UK’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner’s statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of PMSF UK as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
