Annual Report 24-25

MAKE CHANGE

FOUNDATION MEM| ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 202 5

Strategic Report

Objectives and activities:

Our first objective in this period was:

To reduce poverty through outreach, education, and entrepreneurship.

Foundation MEM continues to enhance access to quality higher education for Cameroonian students from low-income backgrounds in rural areas. The foundation provides scholarships covering tuition fees, alongside academic, personal development, and mentorship support.

Additionally, the foundation collaborates with regional partners to ensure effective delivery of scholarships and student support services. It also supports young agro-entrepreneurs through grants focused on regenerative agriculture and environmental sustainability.

Achievements and Performance

Throughout the 2024–2025 financial year, the foundation sustained and strengthened its scholarship programmes, increasing the number of beneficiaries to reflect both growing demand and enhanced funding capacity. By the end of the year, Foundation MEM was supporting a larger cohort of students across diverse academic disciplines, with new scholarships awarded as part of its ongoing expansion and deepening impact.

In continuity with its broader mission, the foundation further developed its support beyond education by advancing its agro-entrepreneurship initiatives. In partnership with Fresh Impetus Cameroon, it continued to provide grants for regenerative agriculture and forest conservation training, equipping young people with practical skills in sustainable enterprise and environmental stewardship. This integrated approach reinforces the foundation’s long-term vision of combining education with economic empowerment and ecological responsibility.

Recognising the ongoing challenges faced by students, Foundation MEM maintained close collaboration with partner organisations that offer academic guidance and personal development support. Through these sustained partnerships, scholarship recipients benefit from mentorship and holistic assistance that extend beyond financial aid, helping them navigate both academic and personal challenges successfully.

Looking ahead while building on existing progress, Foundation MEM has continued to expand its network of partners and supporters. Increased interest from families and donors committed to education in Cameroon has enabled the development of additional named scholarships. At the same time, the foundation has strengthened relationships with universities willing to co-support students financially, ensuring the sustainability and continued growth of its programmes.

Plans for future periods.

Building on the progress achieved in 2025, the organisation remains committed to the continued expansion and strengthening of its scholarship programme. Efforts will be sustained to increase the number of beneficiaries while securing additional and more diverse funding sources to support longterm growth.

In continuity with its current approach, partnerships with universities and partner organisations will be further deepened, enhancing the range of support services available to students. This includes the ongoing development of mentorship, career guidance, and internship opportunities, ensuring beneficiaries receive comprehensive support beyond financial assistance.

Commitment to sustainable development will also be reinforced through the continued expansion of the young entrepreneur grant programme, with a particular focus on regenerative agriculture and environmental conservation. These initiatives build on existing successes, equipping more young people with practical skills and opportunities for economic empowerment.

Through the consolidation and expansion of these efforts, the organisation aims to strengthen its longterm impact, empowering an increasing number of young individuals to achieve academic and professional success despite financial constraints, while contributing positively to their communities.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair ’view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement
