TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the unaudited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024.
OBJECTIVES
The Charity’s objectives are to advance, transmit, spread and propagate the religion of Krishna Consciousness as revealed in the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam as taught by the founder acharya A. C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and in accordance with the tenets of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
The centre has close links with ISKCON LTD with whom it shares common objectives.
TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBILITIES
The Charities Act, 2011 require the trustees to:
-
Ensure that accounting records are kept in respect of the charity which are sufficient to show and explain all the charity's transactions,
-
Prepare in respect of each financial year of the charity a statement of accounts complying with the requirement as to its form and contents as may be prescribed by regulations made by the Secretary of State.
The financial position and details of income and expenditure are set out in the annexed set of financial statements.

INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS (ISKCON) SOUTH LONDON LTD
YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024
I report on the unaudited accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024 set out on pages 6 to 10
RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER
As the charity's Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of section 144(1) of the Charities Act 2011 does not apply and that an independent examination is needed.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charities Commissioners. An independent examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and
-
b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act have not been met; or
-
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of Accounting
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" (SORP 2000) and the Charities Act 1993.
Depreciation
Depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost of an asset, less its estimated residual value, over the useful economic life of that asset as follows:
Furniture & Fittings - 15% Reducing Balance
Stock
Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items.
