CIO Wendover Pre-school Ise tember 2020 to 31 Au U5t 2021 Trustee Chair erson'5 Re ort Once again it has been a touch year for the staff, children and parents of our wonderful Preschool. I must thank all our Staff who have worked tirelessly to provide a Safe, engaging and loving setting during what has been a difficult time for everyone. Special thanks to those who have continued to 5UPPOrt our pre-school and continues to help us grow. I continue to be proud of the achievements of our staff and the way in which we work tO8ether with the local community and other preschools to continue to flourish. Long may it continuel Sarah Willlams. Chairperson, Trustee ILLI Mana er's Re Although the pandemic continues to have an impact on The Wendover Pre-school, the staff have worked tireles51y to ensure that children and familie5 received rhe support that they needed. At the height of lockdown, we provided sessions for as many children 3% we could and supported families at home with early learning and child development advice. Thank you to all our staff for going above and beyond at such a worrying time. Thank you also to our Management Team who worked hard behind the scene5 to ensure that WPS opened safely this Year by writing and implementing rigorous Risk Aise55ment checks and keeping policies suitably updated. This has been a never ending task, as Government & local policy changed so frequently, but they have kept up to date with everything to ensure the wellbeing of our WPS family. Fostering positive mental health and wellbeing within OUT WPS family has always been a priority, but this year It was especially important. We are proud of the sense of community that we nurture at WPS and we know that, despite this year being so difficult in so many ways, we have pulled together to get through. The children have shown amazing resilience and we hève observed very little negative impact on development- quite the contrary - having to come into the setting independently had a positive effect on children's Self confidence and autonomv. We continued to work closely, albeit remotely, with other local settings and schools to ensure that children moving to the next stage of their learnin8journey had a seamless tran51tion. We also worked remotely with local setting5 to share knowledge and idea5. and we were pleased to provide examples of how WPS support speech and language development for an 'online' event held by our Local Authority. So de5Plte the hurdles we have faced it hè5 been a positive year and we look forward to welcorning more local farnilies into our WPS family next year. Sharon Tapping, Manager

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of The Wendover Pre-School Charity Number 1157324

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 August 2021.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner's report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act

have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
