What a bizarre academic year we havejust had. 2019-2020 will certainly be talked about in the future. Covid19
has a lot to answer forl Once again Wendover Pre-school and it's amazing staff have stood up against the virus
and all it has thrown at us. I know how hard it was for Sharon and the team to Stop doing what they simply love
to do and I'm sure that tsur children and families have missed being in Pre-school a5 much as we have missed
5eein8 them.
It's been a year of goodbyes. Firstly, to Andrea who has finally retired after threatenin8 to do so for a number
of yearsl Andrea has, and will always be, a huge part of Wendover Pre-school. My children loved her (now 18,
16 & 131 as so many of my friend's children have too. We wish her lots of lovely retirement time with her own
grandchildren and family. Ruksanè'5 decision to leave was not an easy one. Ruksana took the decision to leave
Pre-school for her family and we accepted that but not without sadness. Ruksana has also been an integral part
of the day to day at WPS and will continue to be a part of our Pre-school family.
And so, the future, whatever that may hold? I know that Sharon and the team are always challenging themselves
to provide a better Early Years Education for Every Child in their care. They strive to be better because of their
love and determination to make Pre-school a special place to le3rn for every single child. Their continued
enthusiasm makes WPS the special place to be a part of, as a member of staff, a child or the child's family. I'm
hoping that we can continue to provide the best of who we are and what we can be and that the community
support us in our endeavour5.
Covid19 has certainly placed strain on the Pre-school but as usual we've come back fighting.
Here's to a relatively straightforward 2020- 20211

During this year at Wendover Pre-school IWPSI we have provlded high quality support. cère & education to local
children and families. We pride ourselves on working to a high staff to ehild ratio to ensure that we meet the
needs of each unique child & family.
At WPS we have a hi8hly qualified and experienced Staff team. This tearn of reflective practitioners have worked
hard this year to provide an enabling environment for all. They have created positive partnerships with parents
& carers to facilitate the wellbeing of all children. In 3ddition to this our Early Vears Teacher has held support
meetings with parents during which they can discuss anything from behavioural issues io sleeping/eating
problems. These meetings have been very successful and feedback from parents has been positive
many
families who have transitioned to school often come back to ys for support and reassurance.
We continue to work closely with Bucks County Council Early Years Advisers and other local providers to share
good practice.
I would like to thank all who work tireles51y to s￿pport our 'outstandin¥ Pre-school and enable us to provide
high quality care and education within our loeal community.

## **Independent examiner's report to the trustees of The Wendover Pre-School Charity Number 1157324** 

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 August 2020. 

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** 

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. 

It is my responsibility to: 

examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; 

to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and 

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

## **Basis of independent examiner's report** 

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: 

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act 

have not been met; or 

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
