Prlncipal activities and review of the business for the year ended 31st May 2025
Kibblesworth Willage Millennium Centre vras opened in 2001 with an elected Management Committee to oversee
the running of the Centre. Kibbl8SWOrth Vilkqge Millennium Centr8 became a registered charity on 2nd June 2014
and is managed by electsd trustees.

To further or benefit the residents of lQbblesworth and Ihe neighbourhood, I￿￿out distinction of sex, sexual
orientalion, race, or political. religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and local
authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common 8ffort to advance education and to provide facilities in
th8 int8rests of social v￿lfare, for recreation leisure time occupalion with the objective of improving the conditions
for lrfe for th8 r8sid8nts.
In furtherance of these objecls but not otherwise, the trustees have power to establish or secure the establishment
of a community centre and to maintain or manage or Coryoperate with any statutory authority in the maintenance
and management of such a centre for activities promoted by th8 charity in furtheranc8 of the above objects.
We provide 8 community facllity in Kibblesworth that is avallable to members and Gateshead residents, as well as
to businesses who wlsh to hire our facilrties.
Over th8 last year the Millennium Centre has recerv8d funding from Northem Powergrid whlch enabled th8
installation of solar panels and a battery pack. thus aiding the centre to become more 8nergy effici8nt and reduce
energy bills. In addrtion to this the centre has rec8sved funding from the Community Foundation towards installation
of susp8nd8d ceilings in the three larger rooms, whlch will again enable th8 centre to become mor8 energy
efficient.
Actlvlty
The Centre intends that as many group l individual acbvitses that reflect the mission statement will be encouraged
to hire space in the Centre. Over the past ￿ar we have had the foll0v￿ng groups booked in regularly on a hire
basis:
Wellno88 and fftnoss:
Yoga- 1 x V￿aklY sessions.
Line dancing- 2 x weekly sessions
Pilates - 3 x weekly sessions
Educatlon:
Kibblesworth Woodcrafters - WCM)d crafting group - 2 x weekly sessions
Painting and drawing - 2 x weekly sessions
Royal Photographic Society- monthEy sessions
Reducing isolatlon:
Coffee morning- held every Monday morning and ran by volunteer5
Warm Space Wednesdays- held weekly and ran by volunteer3
Bingo- weekly sessions ran by volunteers
Millennium baby and toddler group- weekly sessions in temi time
Klbby Kraft8rs- weekly sessions.
Support provided to local communlty
The Millennium Centre hosts surgeries which are organised by local GP pradices to enable local residents to
easily access medical care and flu vaccinations.

Ward Councillor surgeries are held monthly for k￿al resldents to access their councillor.
Polling station for local residents to vote.
Meeting venue for local residents and charttablelvoluntsry Organisat￿n$.
Easter and Christmas church services to give mor8 I￿al residents the opportunity to attend.
Remembrance SeNice held annually.
Fundraising fayres and events to raise money for local and national charities. e.g. ADDER, Sepsis UK,
Kibblesworth Colliery Banner Society. Harvest and Help, pie and pea suppers. school parties.
Risk management
The trustees are personally responsible and liable for keeping proper accounting records and safeguarding the
assets of the organisation. They have assessed the major risks that the organisation is exposed to. in particular
those relating to its operations and finances. They are Satisf￿ that systems are in plac8 to mitigate exposure to
major risks.

The trustees of the organisation are responsible for the preparation of
accounts; they consider that an audit is not required for this year under
section 144(2) of the Charities Aci 2011 and that an Independent
Examination is needed.
It is my responsibilty to

Basls of My examination was carried out in accordance V•ith General Directions
Independent given by the Charty Commission8rs. An examination includes a revlew of
examinorfs
the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the
statement
accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of
eny unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking
explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be
requir8d in an audit, and consequenuy I do not express an audit opinion
on the accounts.
