Struclurey governance and management
The Chalcot Foundation is a Charitable Incorporation Organisation. Our main governing document is
out Constitution adopted on 21 March 2014.
We are led by our Board of Trustees. New Irustees are appointed by the Board of Trustees.
In undertaking their work, the trustees will identify any potential risks to the public and beneficiaries.
seek to minimise any risks that are identifies and ensure that these are no more than a minor
consequence of carrying out the purpose ol the charity.
Oblectlves and activities
The charitys objective and activity is to provide grants to individuals and organisations for the benefit of
Ihe public and other charities or voluntary bodies.
The trustees have devised a grant making policy and use this policy to make decisions about whom to
benelit from the charity. The policy will be reviewed on a regular basis. The public benefit requirement
will be considered when setting the policy and when using the policy to make grants.
The trustees confirm they have relerred to the guidance conlained in the Charity Commission's general
guidance on public benefit when reviewing The Chalcot Foundation's aims and objeclives.

Achlevements and performance
The Foundation made no donations in the year.
Financlal review
There was no income received and no donations were made by the Foundation in bolh the current and
prior year.
The net assels at the end of Ihe year were £2512023: £25). The Irustees will distribute the balance on
the unrestricted fund of £25 (2023: £25) in accordance with their grant making policy in the foreseeable

General Inlormallon
The charity is a registered charity in England and Wales and is a Charitable Incorporated
Organisalion. The address ol the principal office is Burgess Hodgson, 27 New Dover Fload,
Canterbury, CT13DN.
Stalement of compllance
These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, 'The Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland,, the Stalement of
Recommended Praclice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (Charities
SORP (FRS 10211 and the Charities Act 2011.
Accounting policies
Basls ol preparatlon
The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis, as modified by the
revaluation ol certain financial assets and liabilities and investment properties measured al lair
value through income or expenditure.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the enlity.
Golng concern
There are no material uncertainties about the charity's ability to continue.
Judgemenls and key sources of estimation uncertainty
The preparation of the financial statements requires managemenl to make judgements,
estimates and assumptions that affect the amounts reported. These estimales and judgements
are continually reviewed and are based on experience and other factors, including expectations of
future events that are believed to be reasonable under the circumstances.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discrelion of the trustees to further any of the
charitls purposes.
Designated funds are unreslricted funds earmarked by the Irustees for particular future project or
commitment.
Flestricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure declared by the donor or
through the terms of an appeal, and fall into one of two sub-classes.. restricted income lunds or
endowment funds.

Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when entillemenl has
passed lo Ihe charily., it is probable thal Ihe economic benefits associated with the Iransaclion will
flow to Ihe charity and the amount can be reliably measured. The following specific policies are
applied to particular categories of income-.
income from donations or grants is recognised when there is evidence of entitlement lo the
gift, receipt Is probable and ils amount can be measured reliably.
legacy income is recognised when receipt is probable and entitlement is established.
income from donated goods is measured at the fair value of the goods unless this is
impractical to measure reliably, in which case the value is derived from the cost to the donor
or the estimated resale value. Donated facilities and services are recognised in the accounls
when received if the value can be reliably measured. No amounts are included for the
contribution of general volunteers.
income from conlracts for Ihe supply of services Is recognised with the delivery of the
contracted service. This is classified as unrestricled funds unless there is a contractual
requirement for it to be spent on a particular purpose and returned if unspenl, in which case
il may be regarded as restricted.
Resources expended
Expendilure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liabilily is incurred. Expenditure includes any
VAT which cannol be fully recovered, and is classilied under headings of Ihe slatement of
financial aclivilies to which it relates:
expenditure on raising funds includes the costs of all fundraising activities, events, non-
charitable Irading aclivilies, and the sale of donated goods.
expenditure on charitable actlvities includes all costs incurred by a charity in undertaking
activilies that further its charitable aims for the benefit ol its beneficiaries, including those
support costs and costs relating to the governance of the charity apportioned to charitable
aclivilies.
other expendilure includes all expenditure that is neither related to raising funds for the
charity nor part of its expenditure on charitable activities.
All costs are allocated to expenditure calegories reflecting the use of Ihe resource. Direct costs
atlribulable to a single activity are allocated directly to thal aclivily. Shared cosls are apportioned
between the activities they contribute to on a reasonable, justifiable and consistent basis.

Financial liabilities and equity instruments are classified according to the substance of the
contractual arrangements enlered into.
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and receivable or payable within one year are
recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in the profil and
loss account in other adminislrative expenses.
Loans and borrowings are inilially recognised at the transaction price including transaclion costs.
Subsequenlly, they are measured al amortised cost using the effective interest rate method, less
impairment. If an arrangement constitutes a finance Iransaction it is measured at present value.
Stalf costs
The average number of persons employed by the charity during the year ended 5 April 2024,
including the directors, amounted to nil (2023 - nill.
Trustee remuneratlon and expenses
There were no trustees, remuneration or other benefits for the year ended 5 April 2024 (2023 - no
remuneration).
