**Section B Structure, governance and management**

## **Description of the charity’s trusts**

Type of governing document[Constitution]

How the charity is constituted[Charitable Incorporated Organisation]

Trustee selection methods[Appointed by resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the ] charity trustees

## **Additional governance issues**

Our constitution allows only persons who subscribe and adhere to in belief and lifestyle our Statement of Christian beliefs.

Our charity was set up to enable us to support missionaries and under-privileged and needy people; especially children, youth and young adults. In the first instance its major function was to be a means to enable UK tax payers to financially support Living Waters Village, Borneo (www.livingwatersvillage.com).

Luc De Coster and Bernard Elkin have both visited Living Waters Village. Fokko Christiaan Runhaar has served as a missionary at Living Waters Village for 8 years.

We receive our gift aided funds via Stewardship and directly to Kingdom Supplies.

We are in regular contact with the people who lead the project at Living Waters Village and with people who have visited and so are able to ensure that these funds are appropriately used. During his time at Living Waters Village Fokko Christiaan Runhaar was treasurer there. Attached is a report from Marlies Grevers who has been serving as a missionary at Living Waters Village for several years.

## **Section C Objectives and activities**

The objectives of the charity are for the public benefit. In particular the charity will support:

- a) the advancement of the Christian faith in such parts of the UK and the world as the charity trustees decide

- b) the relief and/or prevention of poverty in such parts of the UK and world as the trustees decide. In practice this is likely to centre around personal contacts that the trustees make with people or people groups around the work. Currently it focuses on the needs of the Dayak tribes in Kalimantan, Borneo.

The trustees are aware of the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and have taken the commission’s public benefit guidance into account when making any decision to which it is relevant.

During 2022 the charity has effectively continued to act in a grant making capacity by passing on donations from supporters to Living Waters Village, Borneo. This has benefited children, youth and young adults from impoverished Dayak villages, by providing:

- a) Accommodation at Living Waters Village, which is in an ongoing process of construction, and currently has more than 800 people living there.

- b) Education in the SD (primary), SMP (Lower secondary) and SMA (Upper secondary / 6[th] form) schools that have been built on the site. The teachers in these schools have themselves all come from impoverished villages and have lived at Living Waters Village for a number of years, and completed secondary education, and in many cases university level teacher training. The schools have been taking in children from outside of Living Waters Village as well.

- c) Further education at different universities. d) Clothing and food. e) Health care.

- f) A safe and loving environment where the principles and real life of the Christian faith are taught by example and teaching.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities**

We make grants to people / situations where the trustees have a personal involvement and thus can oversee appropriate use of funds.

All the trustees act in an entirely voluntary capacity and in the year ended December 31[st] 2022 have not received any salary or expense payments from the charity.

The trustees would like to thank Tim Horner FCA for giving his services to complete the 2022 accounts for a reduced fee.

## **Section D Achievements and performance**

For 2022 we have continued to pass on support from UK tax payers to Living Waters Village: £189,673 was passed on to Living Waters Village and £9,289 was passed on to Ronny Heyboer, founder of Living Waters Village, for his personal support.

In 2022 Kingdom Supplies has charged £600 service charges to Living Waters Village (and no service charges to Ronny Heyboer as we had built up a reserve from previous years) . Some of these have been used to fund banking costs (£579 for Living Waters Village) (for the £45 for Ronny Heyboer we had a reserve from previous years), the cost for FundFiler (£85), the ICO registration (£35) and the Web Hosting (£73.78). The remainder is available for future expenses and possible other projects.

## **Section E Financial review**

Any financial reserves accumulated by the charity will be kept for use in funding future expenses and possible other projects.

We have maintained a credit bank balance since inception and have no financial or other liabilities.

Kingdom Supplies has received its income this year through voluntary donations by members of the public and churches.

## **Section F Declaration**

**Date**

18 October 2023

My name is Marlies Grevers. I am from the Netherlands, but for the last 5 years I served as a missionary in Living Waters Village. The Lord used Living Waters Village all those years ago to transform my life and through it I committed my life to full-time ministry. The first time I arrived in 2015 we were with just over 400 kids/youth and staff. All these years later we now live together with more than 800. Living Waters is a beautiful place where Jesus, Love and Hope are the centre of it all. I am in awe of God's work in each of the kids that arrive in LWV. The kids all experienced brokenness, hopelessness and life in fear, but as they open their hearts for Jesus you see a wonderful transformation taking place. Living Waters Village shines the light of Jesus! They don't hide it, but are showing it in all areas reaching out to the lost. It has been such a privilege to be part of God's wonderful plan for the Dayak people.

Blessings, Marlies 17 October 2023

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Kingdom Supplies**

I report on the accounts of the charity for the Year ended 31st December 2022, which are set out on pages 2 to 3.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

- examine the accounts (under section 43 of the Act),

- to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of independent examiner's report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

- (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:

- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act

have not been met; or

- (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
