## **Review of the year 2020** 

The committee has had a few changes over the year, Daisy O’Dell continues as General and Concert Secretary. Mary Waudby   resigned as Chair but continues with her PR role we are pleased Mary accepted the position of Contest  Secretary . Peter Thomason resigned as Contest Secretary and was elected as Chairman. Andrew Leach continued as Librarian Phil Clamp continued as property manager 

Our continued thanks go to Leslie Reynolds for her valuable assistance in keeping  the Committee up to speed on our Child Protection Policy and POPA documentation. 

Matthew Hindle continued in the position of M.D and led us at the Mayor of Trafford’s charity concert , the Butlin’s Skegness contest and the North West Area Contest in Blackpool. 

Following.  Mary Dukes resignation we were pleased welcome Neil Venables on solo Horn. We also welcomed Katherine, Rob and Emma to the cornet section 

Unfortunately directly after the 2020 AGM and before our next rehearsal we were affected by the outbreak of Covid 19.  We haven’t met since as a full band but wherever restrictions allowed small groups have played together. One of these was a group of six who played Christmas Carols in Sale Town Centre. This led to requests from members of the public to play in their streets etc. We had some thirty such requests. These were assed in line with local Covid 19 advice. No fee was requested for these performances but donations to our charity of choice were welcomed. Our thanks go to Simon our Bandmaster, and two secretaries for ensuring ours and the public’s  safety. 

Under the direction of Simon those with access to Zoom have joined together on line to play together and a weekly quiz night. 

Also our thanks go to Anne Baume who has encouraged and led the Community Band over the last 12 month’s also on line. 

We look forward to better times in the future when we can reengage with the people of Trafford and meet up with our banding friends.
