Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Chairmans report 2024 Show;
We held another very successful show on the 31st of August this year.
The event ran smoothly. The financial outcome was good, resulting in a small overall profit of a little over £3000.
We were very sorry not to have Anne and John Rees as our show presidents due to Johns very sad and untimely death just a few days before the show.
Attendance was good and we had to open the second car park early in the afternoon. The weather was happily in our favour, neither too hot or too cold, although oddly at 08.30 in the morning the temperature on the field was minus 1 degree.
I wish to thank everyone for leading their sections in an exemplary manner. It would not be possible to hold the show without the hard work of the committee and indeed all the volunteers and traders. Thank you also to the enthusiastic team from our annual Charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind. They did a great job welcoming visitors and hopefully raised lots of money to support their excellent work.
Feedback from people leaving the show was extremely positive, many saying they would be back next year.
As I will now be resigning and handing over the role of Chairperson to Trudy Sanderson I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last five years.
Peter Smith
