CHAIRMANS REPORT
We held the Bilsdale Show AGM in November 2021 at which we agreed to hold a show in 2022 if circumstance permitted. As 2022 rolled out it became clear, at last, that Covid restrictions were diminishing.
On Saturday 27[th] of August 2022 we held what transpired to be a very successful Show. The weather was glorious and attendance was up by around 30% from the last Show.
The majority of attendees were local, but some came from further and even other countries. Informal feedback from those leaving was extremely positive. All the traditional elements of the Show were in place, with some excellent traders and exhibitors. We updated some of our processes such as electronic payments on the gate and considering the patchy wifi due to the ongoing issue with the Bilsdale Mast, these proved successful and popular. We continued our focus on environmental education with support from Hambleton Council and the local climate and recycling teams.
Our chosen charity Riding for the Disabled was well supported, and on top of their takings we made an additional donation of £300 to them.
The Show made a healthy profit and this will be used to invest in making future shows a success, for capital replacement and to mitigate any last minute show cancellation which would incur substantial costs.
Peter Smith, Chairman.
