Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
SHOW CANCELLED DUE TO COVID 19
CHAIRMANS REPORT
2020 has been an unusual year to say the least. It was agreed at out 2019 AGM that we intended to hold a show as usual on the last Saturday of August 2020. In March 2020 it became increasingly apparent that it was unlikely as we went into the first Lockdown. Unable to meet in person we agreed by electronic means to cancel the Show on 28[th] March 2020. In retrospect this proved to be a sensible decision. In making the decision at that time we were able to avoid any costs associated with putting on a show. We also were able to avoid any unnecessary work either for ourselves or our clients. We floated the idea of possibly holding something on a smaller scale perhaps later than the August date. This proved not to be viable given the continuing restrictions. As a consequence of not holding the Show we were unable to raise money for the chosen charity for 2020, which was due to be Riding for the Disabled. We remain interested in holding a show in 2021 if circumstances permit.

|---|---|
| Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves Details of any funds materially in deficit |
The Bilsdale Agricultural Show Society reserve is held in a business bank account and used to pay for any necessary capital investment. In addition to this we hold a linked but separate current Community account for the purpose of setting up and running the annual show. Money will be transferred from the current account into our reserve account when the balance exceeds the amount required for the running of the annual show. This will be reviewed on an ongoing basis by the treasurer and any transfers agreed by the trustees and committee. |
| Small deficit due to maintenance spend and lack of show day and sponsorship income |
Further financial review details (Optional information)
| Youmay chooseto include additional information, where relevant about: • the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising); • how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity; • investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted. |
Our Primary source of income is from entry ticket / gate sales on show day. In addition we receive donations from individuals involved in the show for example; competitors and local residents. Lastly we are reliant on the incredible sponsorship and support provided by local companies. In 2020 due to the show cancellation because of Covid 19, no monies or sponsorship were received in relation to a 2020 event. Income came from outstanding invoices paid after the end of the financial year. |
