Organi$ational Management
The Hall Council nomially meets four Ilmes 8 year and Its meellngs are attended by the PTrncipal and other
members of the Senior Managamenl Team, together ￿th the President and Presidenl*lect of the Common
Room {for unr8serv8d matters).
To ènsurè that th8 Hall Councll fulfils Ils fiduclary duty of full involvement in setting the strategic direction and
the monlloring and evaluation of ils activltie8, the Councll has established Èeveral fomal sub-committees. This
enables the CounGlI to discharge ils duties and responsibilities in these areas in a more effedve way bul does
not absolve the Council from its collective responslbllltles- rather il enables a small group lo gN8 more detailed
onsideration trj Iheso matters and then to report lo Ihg whol8 Council.

This approves a draft budget for presentation to the Councll and keeps the use of resoU￿eS for the
developing life of the Hals under review. making recommendations to the Council in admlnSstrallve,
financlal and pollGy areas.

This reviews the teaching, training and formation of all students and considers malor declslons on
education and training which may affect the Hall's relatlonship with Ministy Team andlor tho Univ&rsity
of Oxford and other major stakeholdeTS.

This recommends candidates for membership of the Councll {for election by the Council as a whol8) as

The Senior Management Team rn￿S every two weeks. Tutors, academic staff who have ￿s￿)nSibIlity for a
Fellowship Group and senior support staff also meet fortnighlly to contribute to the management of the Hall in
the Hall Wide Management Meeting.
Group Structure and Rela￿onShIpS
By a scheme dated 16 December 2014, the Charity Commission appointed Wycliffe Hall as sole corporate
trustee of the predecessor trust Wycliffe Hall (charity number 3097031. This included transfer of tille to the Hall's
maln building {5244 Banbury Road) which is a permanent endowment. The Wycliffe Hall trust continues to eKsl
but is assentially domiant.. its only future activity will be if the trust receives legacSes.
Wycliffe Hall has two wholly owned non-charitable trading subsidiarles. whose profits are donated to the Hall
under the Gift Aid scheme.:
Wycliffe Hall Services Ltd (WHSLI Is Incorporated the Unrted Kingdom to manage commercial
activities in support of Wydtffe Hall's overall objectives.
Wycliffe Hall Development Ltd (WHDLI was incorporated in the United Kingdom and acts as a buildin9.
contractor to Wycliffe Hall.
Risk Manag•ment
The Hall has on-going processes wh￿h operated through-out the financlal year for identifying, evaluating, and
managlng tho prfncipal rlsks and uncertaintles faced by the Hall and its subsldiaries in undartaklng Its actlvltles.
Th6 Hall has d8velopgd systems to monitor and control these rlsks lo mitigate the impact Ihgy may have on the
Hall's future. and IhgS9 are overseen by the Finance Commltlee. The Hall Council, which has ultimate
responsibility for managing any risks faced by the Hall, has reviewed the processes in place for managing risk
and the principal identified risks lo which the Hall and ils subsidiaries are exposed and have concluded Ihal
adequate systems are in place lo manage these risks. A risk regisl8r is updated and reviewed by Hall Council.
Flnance Committee review parts of this quarterfy and èach month the Senior Manag8m&nt Team review the
8lalus of one of th8 key risk categories.
Tho most significant risks identified by th8 Council are associated with student recruitment to the various
courses and training prograrnmes offered by the Hall. These conslituÈ8 a large part of the financial risks
associated with the need for tight cashflow management and a sustainable operating model which is a constant
focus with costs prevlously having increased at a higher rate than income. Trustee are taking necessary steps
to ensure that the costs of th8 Hall are sustainable while continuing to explore increased income Ihrough ethlcal
fundraislng and commercial enterprise.
While the Hall is producing an operating surplus, there are further needs to rebuild reseNes and undertake
capital investment.

Flnanclal Support for Students
Th& Hall ¢harges tultlon faes In Ilne wllh externalty regulated rates and sets reasonable accommodation and
meal charges. To asslst und8rgraduates entitled to Student Support. the Hall advlses on schemes operatsd In
common with the UnNersily and other Colleges, has a relatively small amount of bursary support for those of
limited financial means and h88 established contacts with other polenlial supporting bodies. The scheme is
approved by the Office of Fair Access IOFFAI and provld85 benefrt8 al a substantially hl9h8r level than tha
mlnlmum OFFA requlrement.
Most of Ihg Hall's independent studenls11.e. those whose Iralning c051s 8re not pald by the Church of England)
are not &ligSble for Student Support. Where pos5iblg. the Wall provides financial support for students, including
sevor81 bursaries and fae waivers each yaar lo fund fees and Ilvlng co815 for both undergr8duat8 and graduate
students. For th& ocademlc year 2024125, the numb8r of awards made by the Hall wa8 812024.'61 and the lolal
value awarded was £50k12024.' £24kl. A relatively new bursary. Theology for All, funded by a generous donor,
provided a further £280k lo support 18 sludenis durlng Ihe y8ar1£194k lefis and accommodation plus £84k for
1Svlng costs. Th8 Hall also supports students ￿th travel expenses associated with theSr min1518rial placements
and operates a Ilmiled hardship fund, foi which students incurring ungxpoclgd financial haTdship are eligible.

encour&gemenl. Our10$1 REF submission was QUT best ever. with 4.2 FTE of our small academic team
conlribullng to th8 REF. W& have est8blished a Research Fund with the majorily of the derived income
allocated lo support our academic team in Ihelr research and publicallon. One of our Bcademic staff, Dr Andr

Templgton Religion Trust ITRTI, and will explore the question of how the Abrahamic
faiths (Judalsm, Christianity, Islam) and the evolutionary sciences meet, bringing
tooelher scholars from these three falth traditions for workshops and colloqula.
