communicating about the sector. Charis Tiwala has also taken part in the Sex Worker briefing events hosted by Herts County Council Sexual Health Improvement Team. Charis has given advice and guidance to the group about how to make Health Services more accessible and approachable for people who may be in or affected by the sex industry. ## **Achievements and Performance**

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Between April 2022 and March 31st<br>2023 Charis Tiwala has directly<br>ofered support to 10 people who<br>have been afected by human<br>trafcking or sexual exploitation<br>within the sex industry.  This is<br>primarily through outreach to sex<br>establishments and to those who are<br>working on the streets, online<br>outreach and key-working sessions<br>with individuals who request ongoing<br>support.<br>Charis distributed 32 Christmas gifts<br>and information about their services<br>to local women who were at risk.<br>Links with other agencies includes;<br>local GP surgery, Herts County<br>Council Health Improvement Team<br>(where work has taken place together<br>and plans have been made to ofer a<br>more accessible health service and<br>emotional support for women in the<br>sex industry), the local council’s<br>Health Inequalities team, YMCA and<br>New Hope (homelessness charity).<br>Charis is a stakeholder in the<br>Hertfordshire Sexual Health Network.<br>Outputs achieved by Charis Tiwala:<br>-<br>296 volunteer hours given for<br>outreach to venues and women<br>working on the streets,<br>reaching on average 2 women<br>per week and zoom meetings<br>to pray.<br>-<br>28 volunteer hours over the<br>year given by the trustees.<br>-<br>Regular key-work sessions with<br>6 women; focusing on<br>emotional and practical<br>support<br>-<br>8 Admin voluntary hours (IT)<br>-<br>Weekly bible study group (2<br>hours per week) with 2-3<br>women regularly attending.<br>-<br>Charis, in partnership with a<br>local GP surgery and The Local<br>Council, piloted a women’s only<br>health and wellbeing clinic<br>from May 2022 to year end<br>2023.  The monthly clinic (run<br>by a GP, nurse, Charis staf and<br>a member of Herts Help team<br>who specialised in access to<br>benefts andhousingneeds)|

It was on these grounds that Charis Tiwala was granted a dispensation.
