OBJECT 1: To relieve the charitable need of anyone who may have been a victim of or affected by human trafficking or exploitation **Summary of the objects** OBJECT 2:  To advance the Christian faith by way of offering a **of the charity set out in** Christian chaplaincy service to people affected by the sex **its governing document** industry and offering spiritual support when requested. OBJECT 1:  Throughout the year Charis Tiwala has relieved the charitable need of anyone they have come in to contact with who has been a victim of or affected by human trafficking or sexual exploitation, this includes (but not exclusively): practical and emotional support, advocacy, advice & signposting, sexual health advice. 

OBJECT 2:  Charis Tiwala has advanced the Christian faith by offering a Christian chaplaincy service on a weekly basis; doing outreach to people in the sex industry, by running weekly Bible **Summary of the main** studies for people in the sex industry and by taking the women **activities undertaken for** who are interested to an online Christmas Carol service and **the public benefit in** online Bible study with Lambeth Palace. The above objectives were achieved due to a dedicated team of 13 volunteers investing their time in Charis Tiwala and 5 parttime staff; working on the frontline with women at risk and doing administrative tasks.

Between April 2020 and March 31[st] , 2021 Charis Tiwala has **Summary of the main** directly offered support to 37 people who have been affected by **achievements of the** human trafficking or sexual exploitation within the sex industry. **charity during the year** This is primarily through outreach to sex establishments and to those who are working on the streets, online outreach and keyworking sessions with individuals who request ongoing support. 

Links with other agencies includes; local GP surgery, Sexual Health and Public Health (where work has taken place together and plans have been made to offer a more accessible health service and emotional support for women in the sex industry). Charis is a stakeholder in the Hertfordshire Sexual Health Network. 

- Charis is also a partner in the Hertfordshire Modern Slavery Partnership Network and has worked with them considering recovery pathways and has agreed to be a Single Point of Contact for victims of trafficking into the sex industry in Herts. Outputs achieved by Charis Tiwala: - 306.25 volunteer hours given for outreach to venues and women working on the streets, reaching on average 3 women per week and zoom meetings to pray. 

- - 124 volunteer hours over the year given by the trustees. 

- - Regular key-work sessions with 6 women; focusing on emotional and practical support 

- - 10 Admin voluntary hours (IT and web support) 

- - 3 hours of online outreach, reaching 28 women 

- - Weekly bible study group (1.5 hours per week) with 2-3 women regularly attending (over WhatsApp due to Covid19 pandemic) 

   - 2 hours of training delivered about sexual exploitation and human trafficking to a community group 

*Outputs reduced due to 2 staff members being on maternity leave at different times during the year, two staff members furloughed between April 2020-Sept 2020 and two staff members were on flexi-furlough between Jan 2021-end of March 2021 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

At the end of March 2021, the charity had £75,575.75 in reserve (more than the appropriate level set by the trustees). The extra reserve was due to two members of staff being on maternity leave in the year and three members of staff being on furlough. 

The trustees need to hold reserves to include meeting fluctuations in receipts or payments and meeting specific future needs such as salaries for future staff.
