## **The registered address for the Charity is as follows:**

## **The Charity consists of the following four Trustees:**

## **Objectives and Aims**

In January 2012, Aiden Goodwin was only 11 years old, he was a happy and caring boy, who loved playing football for his School and Sunday League Teams, as well listening to his favourite music with friends. Tragically it was at this time that Aiden was diagnosed with a rare aggressive tumour on his left kidney, after a hospital visit for a stomach complaint

Nothing could have prepared the family for this devastating news, and the huge impact it would have. Aiden endured nearly 2 years of chemotherapy and drug trials, never complaining once, and always had a smile for everyone. Sadly the tumour eventually spread to his liver, spine and pelvis, and Aiden finally lost his battle against this terrible disease in November 2013

The family are so proud of their son and felt that they wanted to carry Aiden’s name forward in some way, as well as helping other families going through a similar trauma, therefore The Aiden Goodwin Foundation was created.

**Registered Charity No: 1156802**

The Aiden Goodwin Foundation became a registered children’s charity in April 2014 and is completely non-profit making. The team of four are all completely voluntary, no salary or revenue is taken. Aside from necessary minor expenses, all monies raised go 100% towards the Foundation’s goal.

The aim of The Aiden Goodwin Foundation is to bring a little happiness to children with life threatening illnesses and their families, to provide a time to be away together and to help create memories to keep forever in their hearts. The need is great for the children and their families to know that there is support and gestures of kindness there for them. To be aware that there are others that have gone through or are going through a similar experience to their own.

To achieve this vision the Foundation’s objective was to purchase and maintain a new 8 berth caravan, located on a holiday park on the South Coast, and for families to use the accommodation and facilities at their convenience totally free of charge. In the first 10 months the team worked extremely hard and raised the monies needed to purchase the first Aiden Goodwin Foundation caravan.

The hard work and amazing support network for the foundation, continued and the monies were raised to be able to purchase a second caravan in November 2017. The decision was made in 2020 to sell the two caravans and relocate to a far more cost effect site and to one caravan.

The Foundation was once again delighted to welcome more children and families to the Foundation caravan over the last season. Feedback and messages from the families continue to come through and show how much the caravan is helping to create good times and memories.

The caravan is consistently maintained and improvements made as appropriate, for example new outside furniture, new bedding or interior items that may help to enhance the stay for the children and their families. The Caravan site itself has also undergone a vast amount of improvements, to mention a few, these include the new outside areas which consist of an open air theatre for movies or shows, a fantastic climbing area with trampolines alongside and a go carting course, improvements to the restaurant and entertainment areas.

The Aiden Goodwin Foundation team remains completely reliant on donations, once again it is thanks to the supporters who generously and tirelessly donate or organise events to raise funds for the benefit of the Charity. Alongside this plans are full ahead for the forthcoming Charity Ball due to be held in September 2023. So far the interest and support for this very popular event has been fantastic and the Foundation is very much looking forward to hosting this evening.

## **Our Caravan**

The caravan is as before available for the children and their families at no cost whatsoever. Everything is provided for their comfort and enjoyment, to make their stay as relaxing as possible, from bedding, kitchen equipment, outside furniture, BBQ, board games, games consoles and books.

Their stay also includes VIP passes, for use in and around the park which entitles them to discounted food, drink and activities. The only costs that the families

**Registered Charity No: 1156802**

will incur would be their travel costs, food and any additional activities not included on the holiday park.

We do try to gather feedback from every family that has a stay in the caravans. This is either by telephone, email or comments in our guest book, whichever is most appropriate for the family at that time.

## **Long Term Goals**

We continue to have support from our followers and are hoping to hold the very successful charity ball once again towards the end of 2023.

We are continually monitoring our financial status and how our funds are going, in order to sustain and maintain our very valuable service to the children and their families who need our support.

## **Overview of Our Past Year**

Throughout April 2022 through to April 2023 we were able to raise a total of £901.72

Throughout the year we have had our regular donations from supporters via monthly direct debit donations and a few ad hoc donations. Of which again, we are so very grateful and thankful for these amazing and kind people.
