Greatest Expectallon5 maln source of funding thls year has been frorn our contract wlth Middlesbrough College. Incom8 ha$
also been supplemented wlth small scale contracts, logelher with dlsability awareness Irainlng and first aid training.
Middlesbrough College have had a change In their strategy wilh almost total loss of any subcontractors. Gr8atest
Expectations no longer acl as a subcontractor wlth Middlesbrough Coll8g8 and has therefore had to Implement Ihe reserves
policy.
Reducllon In Incorne from Middlesbrough College from August 2023 has necossilated uslng a portlon of our Charity
Reserves.
The net result for the year was a deficit of £25.731 (2023.. deflcll of £2,323). At the end of the y8ar our roserves slood at
£79.475 {2023: £105.206), whlch conslsts of £79.475 unreslrl¢ted funds.12023: £105,206 unrestrlcled).
Reserves Pollcy

Golng Concem
The trustees have consldered the posltlon ragarding going concem and conslder Et ig approprfale to prepare the financial
ststeTnents on a going conc8m basls. Tho golng concem assumptlon Is based on an up to data buslness plan In place.
Durlng the perlod, Middlesbrough College has restructured its op8rallng madel and has undertaken dulles In house and as a
r8$ult the charfty has theraforo had lo Implement Ihe reser¥es pollcy.
Savings hava b•gn made In 8laff c051s. reduclng siaff numbers from 10 10 4 employees.
In addlllon the Trustees continue to work ￿￿th provlderg of fundlng lo Investlgate opportunlti85 lo enhance the long term
suslalnablllty of the charity. The trustees have irnplemenled a c05t redudion programme and as a result the Tru51ees
conslder Ihe going concern basls to be approprlalo.
Future Plans
There are also ongolng Issues with decreased leamer engagement In the tTainlng sector as a whole, and whilo we have
always responded robu511y to this lype of challenge. we are In no way complacent lo the task ahead In order lo sustaln our
charltable endeav¢Jurs.
