This report concerns turnover and activity in the year 2020-21. We did not meet in person during the year as there were three national lockdowns in response to the Covid pandemic and along with the committee many members were shielding. We rang all members who were not on email in the late spring of 2020 to check in that they were getting the support they needed. We kept in touch with others with occasional e- bulletins and online meetings in the autumn and winter. In early spring 2020 we joined forces with Headington Action to lobby for improvements to that neighbourhood and surveyed all our members in that location about the access issues they face. We received 1 donation from an individual and a substantial donation of £5,300 via Disability Action who administered the national DPO Covid-19 Emergency Fund. This was paid in two instalments with the first of £4,000 in late 2020. With the funding we contracted freelance communications and membership support from January through to June 2021. We used this to improve our communication with online and offline members, using a variety of communication methods. As a result we were able to ‘tidy up’ our membership database and encouraged members to attend online meetings, mobilising disabled people to be a louder and more demanding collective voice in Oxfordshire, particularly about access to services in the ongoing Covid-19 response. We also increased awareness with statutory providers of Unlimited’s presence and its role in reaching disabled people. In January 2021 a new committee member Tim Treuherz joined us. Tim has considerable experience as a long-standing trustee of Oxford CAB and as a retired lawyer specialising in planning with local authorities. The committee of five have continued to respond to individual queries from Disabled people in Oxfordshire, providing signposting to other agencies. Through the committee we are connected to OXTRAG, HealthWatch Oxfordshire, OxTalk, Oxfordshire Over-55s, the Oxfordshire County Council Co-Production Board, Oxfordshire Pedestrians Association and nationally Tourism for All. The charity is a member of the national organisation Shaping Our Lives. We fed back on the national Disability Strategy consultation and other local consultations and attended online Oxfordshire forum meetings on behalf of our members. Page 1 of 4 We communicate by email and phone with members and other organisations and maintain our website – reflected in the accounts as the cost of the domain name, and external hosting of our email server. During the year we ceased our freefone service as the monthly cost did not justify the few calls made on it. Instead we invested in a Zoom account. At the end of the year we had bank balances totalling just over £8,000, just under half of which was restricted income from the DPO Covid-19 Emergency Fund donation which we carried forward to support communication and member development costs in the financial year 2021-22. We have no other assets other than cash in the bank. As a charity with a small turnover of less than £25,000 we do not have to our accounts audited but these accounts were reviewed by a third party. As Treasurer I kept the books and paid bills. The accounts were prepared from those records and our bank statements. We continue to bank with the Co-op Bank plc. Three other committee members reviewed and agreed the income and expenditure ledger, and SOFA and balance sheet.
