**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE  TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE UK IN THE SUBJECT OF THE COMPOSITION OF MUSIC IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH: (A) UNDERTAKING A SELECTION PROCESS TO IDENTIFY COMPOSITION STUDENTS WHO ARE PREPARING FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDY WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE SUPPORT THE FOUNDATION IS ABLE TO OFFER. (B) PROVIDING SUPPORT TO SELECTED COMPOSITION STUDENTS, THROUGH SUCH EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES WHICH MIGHT OTHERWISE NOT BE AVAILABLE TO THEM, FOR EXAMPLE FUNDING TOWARDS THE COST OF TUTORIAL MENTORSHIPS. (C)PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES WHERE POSSIBLE FOR THE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE OF COMPOSITIONS THROUGH THIS SCHEME.

**Activities:** To identify composition students age 14 - 19 who would benefit from the support the Foundation is able to offer. To enable selected composition students to access educational activities which are not generally available to them such as tutorial mentorships. To provide public performances of selected students' compositions, promoting these to reach a wide public audience.
