Revd Alex thanked all for 5erwn8 on the PCC. She sahl that last year was filled with various challenges but much to
celebrate as we received a huge amount of funding to help resovrce ouryouth and children's work and carry out
community engagement events.
St Marks was awarded a grant of £40.000 from the Th"ocesan StrategK Development Fund project.
*To run the Iree community breakfasts every I, Saturday ol the month.
*To build a multi- sensory room $0 members of our church and the l¢xal community are able to make use of that
space as a breakout room.
STO hire the seryices of a church consultant to help us organise as a church for different responsibilities, to hi8hli8ht
some of the issues that need further legal interrogation and d¢xvmentation to bè cornpliant.
It has been a real thriwng time for our young people as the club ha5 continued to flourish with 32 teenager5
attending the youth group on a Tuesday where we do Bible study. and we eat together. that has felt like too many in
the last few weeks particularly because we're so short staffed. These young people want to know Jesu5 but it's hard
to get them engaged as well so tr's been realty hard work but a real blessing to have that many voung people. Youn£
people participate not jusl in Coming to youth group but also do Sunday seNice reading5 and PowerPoint slides
making our church an all-inclusive and fvThaioninE community-
We hève continued to connect with other groups such as UA)an Promise UK whereby some ol Oltr teenager5 have
received tuition and training and mentoring and some 15-year-olds have gone on to be employed as student leaders
for the after-￿h0o1 club. We are enabling and empowering our young people to be released inio the work of Mission
nd ministry here in Marks Gate.
Alex said She would l¢ke the adults to be excited and join in and parlicipale in God's mission and minisiries in Marks
Gate. Our projects like the community breakfa￿$ do requ(re adults to set tables, cwk, chat, and get to know the
local community. We will do rotas and displayon the nolice boards like the one for re3der5for all to be able to take
part in the ministry.
Alex thanked all for rhe journey that we have been on with the Ascension thuich Collier Row. She meniioned that
balancing the demands of two churches is qur(e hard. but we have been looking lo explore things more creatively a5
we do different styles ol setvices. We have continued to have joint services at both churches_
At St Marks we have started an evening service once a month where we just gather and prayi this is powerful as
some members a￿ able to preach the Word of God.
Church membeis ihanked Alex for conducting a renewal of baptism seThi¢e by immersion. which was very inspiring.
We had some ofthe young people renewin8 th￿r bèpti5m vows.
