The announcement of the UKJALtslralia Season of Cutture, a collaboration beeen the British Council and the Australian Govemment, involved the charity in supporting and participating in fund- raising endeavours lo support Australian acts and performers coming lo the United Kingdom. Publlc Beneflt The trustees consider that FANZA has complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Commission and in accordance with objectives which are advancing the education of the public by promoting and celebrating the range and vitality of Australian and New Zealand lrfe, culture and languages across all art foms.

This included £605,154 of restricted ftjnds related to grants to be made for the purposes of supporting the UKJAuslralia Season of Culture. Grants of £628,76012021". £10,000) were made during the year and related costs of £5012021.. £2.1 $01 were paid. Investment pollcy The charity has the power to make investments as the trustees see fil. No investments were made during the year and the charity holds no investments. Risk managerngnt As the charity does not hold investments or depend upon a regular flow of donations to support ils work and does not currently organise events or employ staff il was considered that investment and financial support and many of the usual operating risks of charities are not relevant. The trustees determined that there were no areas of concem in the light of the charity's current oblectives and operation. It is the intention of the tfustees lo cary out a risk review annually. R•$erve8 poIIcy The policy of the Iruslees ft)r the time being is to maintain only minimal reserves. This is because commitments will not be made beyond donations received and operating costs are expected to be kept at a low level. Reserves of £41,498 12021 £51,262) less the restricted balance of £16,000 {2021.' £39,856) are held primarily lo defray expenses relating to the charity's website and social media accounts. The charity is a cornpany limited by guarantee incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 on 15 November 2013. 11 is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission under number 1156484. The trustees have the power to appoint any person as a trustee. New Iruslees re1ve copies of recent MinLrtes and Appendices, the latest accounts, and any other reports on current activities. Org8rJisation The trustees meet regularty and oversee the management of the charity. The 808rd of Trustees is the governing body which administers the Charity. All major decisions are made by the Board which meets regularly to discuss and forniulate pollcy and to decide on strategy. Delegations are made from time to time to Sub0mMtees (made up ol Trustees), for example for the administrats.on and grant of restricted funds. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102} issued on 16 July 2014 and with the Financial Reporbng Stsndard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and with the Charities Act 2011. The charity constitutes a public benefft entty as defined by FRS 102. Golng concern The financial slalemenls have been prepared on the going concem basis as the trustees have confirmed that they will Conknnue to support the Charity ft)r the foreseeable future. In the opinion of the Iruslees the effects of Covid 19 will not impact in the long term on the ability of the charity to ntinue to operate as a going concem. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. Expendttur8 Liabilities are reeognised as expendrture as soon as there is a legal or construcln18 obligation committing the charty lo that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in strttlement and the amount of the obligetion can be me83ured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related lo the category. Where costs cannot be directly attribuled to particular headings, they have been allocated to actwities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Taxation As a registered tharity FANZA is exempt from taxation on its charitable activitses.
