The general obJectNes for the organlsatlon are to collect and dlstribute food Items to those In need
vla a voucher referral system as dlctated by the Trussell Trust. Vouchers are Issued by referral
agencles whlch subscrlbe to the Trussell Trust operatlng model.

the Charity Commlsslon's general guldance on publlc benefrt. No charge is rnade to clients for the
food fterns provided.
The or8anlsatlon1s afflllated to the Trussell Trust whlth operates a voucher referral system for glvlng
out food to those In need.
The actlvltle5 and achlevements durlng the year are as follows:
The provlslon of 3-day emergency food parcels contslnlng drled and tlnned food to cllents
Identlfled In need. We are wholly rellant upon donatlon5, efther flnanclal or food/vouchers.
Durlng 2024 we:
o Fed In excess of 907 people.
o Fulfilled 408 food vouchers.
o Welcomed clients who were referred by some of the 53 agencies.
Locally we have been able to Increase the number of serv7￿ provlders offerlng foodbank
vouchers and have therefore Increased the numbers glven, prlmarily due to the economlc
sltuatlon. Thls has resulted in fewer Instances of food poverty.
The provlslon of a slgnpostlng support servlce to help cllents try and improve the
circumstances that have led to the need for emergency food provlslon. In 2022 we were
successful In obtsinlng funding from the Tru55ell Trust for a two-year projert, dellvered In
partnershlp wlth Leek & Dlstrict Foodbank and Citlzens Advlce. to support cllents In
managlng their tlnanclal situation. This project contlnued during 2024.

Our plans for the future are slmple:
To continue to provlde our existing servlce, ensurfng we have suffldent food donatlons to do
th15 and therefore novone In the area we serve goes hungry.
To utillse the Trussell Trust flnancial Incluslon grant to provlde income and debt-
management advlce to as many cllents as posslble.
To replace exlsting Fl funding wlth a new provlder. Joined wlth Leek and Newcastle
Foodbank5 to develop thls strategy as the current 8rant explres May 26.

Review of the Year
Financial donations received during the year for food parcels increased to £20.877 from £13,185 in
2023. Costs increased to £16.525 compared to £10,503 resulting in an unrestricted surplus of £4,352
(2023- £2.682).
Durlng 2024 we received restricted financial inclusion grants of £74,546 (2023 - £37,853) to add to
the unspent balance at 31" December 2023 of £28.331. Costs of £56,39412023 £29,775) were
Incurred, leavlng a balance to be spent In 2025 of £46,483.
Reserves
Cash funds at 31" December 2024 amounted to £98,049. split between restricted funds of £49,803
and unrestrlcted funds of £48,246.
It Is the Trustee's alm to malntaln reserves at a level to ensure funding requlrements for the
forthcoming year can be met and to safeguard the organisation against unforeseen circumstance5.

The charlvs trustees are responslble tor the preparation of the accounts. The charws trustees
consider that an audSt Is not reqUI￿d for this year under sectlon 14412) of the Charities Act 2011 (the
2011 Act) and that an Independent examlnatlon Is needed.
It Is our responsibility to:
• &Yamlne the accounts (under sectlon 14S of the 2011 Act).
• to follow the procedures lald down in the General Directtons glven by the Charlty Commlssion under
section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
to State whether particular matters have come to our attentlon.

Commlssloners, An examlnatk)n Indudes a review of the accountlng records kept by the charity and
comparlson of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideratlon of any unusual
Items or disclosures In the accounts. and seeking explanations from the trustees concernlng any such
matters. The procedure5 undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audiL
and consequently no opinlon is glven as to whether the accounts present a true and falr view and the
report Is Ilmlted to those matters set out In the 5tstement below.
Independent examlners statement
In connection wlth our examlnatlon, no materlal matters have come to our attention which gfves us
cause to belleve that In, any material respect:
the accounting records were not kept in accordan￿ wlth sertlon 130 of the Charlties Act. or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
the accounts dld not compty with the appllcable requirements concemlng the form and
content of accounts set out In the Charltles (Accounts and Reports) Regulatlons 2008 other
than any requlrement that the accounts gNe a Irue and falrf view which Is not a matter
consldered as part of an Independent examlnatlon.
We have no con￿rn$ and have come across no other matters In connection wlth the examlnatlon to
which attentlon should be drawn In thls report In order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
