Vouchers are Issued by referral agencles which subscribe to the Trussell Trust operating model. In settlng our ob5ectlves and plannln8 our activities, the Trustees hiive gtven careful consideratlon to the Charlty Commlsslon's general guldance on public benefit. No charge is made to cllents for the food Items provlded. The organlsatlon Is affiliated to the Trussell Trust whSch operates a voucher referral system for glvln8 out food to those In need. The activlties and achlevements durlng the year are as follows.. The provlsion of 3-day emergency food parcels containlng drled and tlnned food to cllents identifled In need. We are wholly rellant upon donatlons. elther flnanclal or foodlvouchers. Durlng 2023 we.. Fed In excess of 1,150 people. o Fulfllled 471 food vouchers. Welcomed cllents who were referred by some of the 53 a8encles. Locally we have been able to Increase the number of servlce provlders offerln8 foodbank vouchers and have therefore Increased the numbers given, prlmarlly due to the economlc sttuatlon, This ha5 resulted In fewer Instances of food poverty. The provlslon of a slgnpostlng support servlce to help cllents try and Improve the clrcum5tance5 that have led to the need for emer8ency food provision. Durlng 2022 we were successful In obtaining fundlng from the Trussell Trust for a two-year project, delivered In partnershlp wlth Leek & Distrirt Foodbank and Cltlzens Advlce, to support cllents in managlng thelr flnancial situation. Thls project commenced In December 2022 and further fundln8 has been obtalned durlng 2023 to allow the project to be extended by a further two year5. ookln Ahead Our plans for the future are slmple: To continue to provide our existlng servlce, ensurlng we have sufficient food donatlons to do thi5 and therefore no-one In the a￿3 we serve goes hungry. Cost5 increased to £10.503 compared to £5,038 resulting in an unrestricted surplus of £2,682 12022 - £16,889). During 2023 we received a restricted financlal Inclusion grant of £37,85312022 - £41,947) to add to the unspent balance at 31" December 2022 of £28,331. Costs of £29,775 12022 - £13,616) were incurred, leaving a balance to be spent in 2024 of £36,409. Reserves Cash funds at 31" December 2023 amounted to £75,545, split between restricted funds of £36,409 nd unrestricted funds of £39,136. It is the Trustee's aim to malntain reserve5 at a level to ensure funding requirements for the forthcoming year can be met and to safeguard the or&anisztion against unforegeen circumstances. The charivs tru5tee5 consider that an audit Is not required for this year under sertion 144121 of the Charltles Act 2011 Ithe 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is our responsibillty to: examine the accounts (under sertion 145 of the 2011 Act): to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions Biven by the Charlty Commission under section 1451511bl of the 2011 Act: and to state whether particular matters have come to our attentlon. Basls of Independent examlners ststement Our examlnatlon wa5 carrled out in accordance with General Direttions given by the Charlty Commlssioners. An examlnation includes a review of the accountlng record5 kept by the charlty and a comparison ol the accounts presented with those records.
