What do we do?
We meet weekly for our Friday night ‘club’ night, we meet at Midway Community Centre between 6pm and 8.30pm. We have our ‘café’ open, craft activities, accessibility sports, pamper nights, quiz and bingo nights, dance lessons, fun and music fun sessions.special events including ‘Pantomime’s and ShoutOut Got Talent’, special event celebrations.
We also go out on day trips in our Minibus, including museums, theatre trips, canal cruising day trips, pub nights, cinema nights.
We went to Butlin’s in 2022, and we are off again in 2024. (For more many members it’s their only chance to go away on holiday).
We offer members telephone support in the week, the opportunities for skill learning, support on form filling and one to one support of visit or appointments. A regular Newsletter is produced, along with a closed group Facebook page, so members can keep up to date with activities.
ShoutOut does not have any paid staff and therefore trustees, volunteers give their time freely and are passionate about our group. “Why blend in when you were born to stand out”.
Chairs Report
The last year has been a lot more stable, now established at Midway Community Centre, with lots of new members joining us on Friday nights. Winshill Wednesday is now just once a month the first Wednesday in the month, this is our support group, and where new skills are learnt. We have enjoyed a theatre trip to see a Panto, went off to the Cinema and visited RAF Cosford.
Our talented members put on the ShoutOut got Talent event, which was a great event, with many parents, carers joining the audience. Our wonderful show judges gave great feed back, with one winner but lots of talent. we are now planning our Christmas Pantomine, O yes we are-with the return of our ugly sisters! We have been lucky to receive some donations from companies this year.
including; Prisum UK Ltd. Pro-Medical 2002Ltd, in the accounting year reporting, however we have had more connections and personal gifts throughout the year.
It would be remiss of me not to thank our wonderful volunteers who have once again supporting the charity, without them it just could not happen. We hope to see you all at the Panto! (November 29th).
Financial Year April 2022- March end 2023
