Activities The pandemic caused us to modify the way that we worked and Ljntll recently staff were wDrkinE from home. However, since June 2023 we have resumed office working and attending meetings and seeing members of the public face to face.But we are also able to work remotely using video conferencing.Additionally, we keep our website updated as well as our social media presence and produce a newsletter electronically every week containin8 UP to date information form the health and social care sectors. Objective 2 - making the views and experiences of members of the general public known to Health and Health and Social Care provider5, Activlties Regular attendance at meetings held with health and social care providers, including attendance at the Health and Wellbeing Board. Objective 3 enabling local people to have a voice in the development, delivery and equality of acces5 to loca l Hea Ith and Care Services and Facilities Activitles Oue to the technological and digltal solutlons that were requlred as a result of the pandemic restrlrtlons, people now have more of a choice in how they interact with us, either face to face at our community hubs, online via various teleconference facilities or phone,website and social media. Objective 4 - provid i ng training a nd the development of ski Ils for volunteers and the wider commun ity in understand ing, scrutlni5ing, reviewlng and monitorlng Local Health and Care Services and Facilities Activities We conduct weekly alternate Zoom or face to face meetings with volunteers. Staff attend meetings either online or face to face with a range of public, private and voluntary and community sector stakeholders. Two board members attend meetings of the Governing Council and the subcommittees of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, and contacts are maintained with Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust and other providers. At 31 March 2024 free re5erve5 amounted to £84,977 which 15 just over the optimum reserves level. The board have establ ished designated fund for potential redu nda ncy costs i n the case that the contract with Darlington Borough Cou ncil is was not extended. HEALTHWATCH DARLINGTON LIMITED NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 ACCOUNTING POLICIES Basis of preparing the financial statements The financial Statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities prèparing their accounts i n accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective l January 20191,, Financial Reporting Standard 102'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepa red under the historical cost convention. Income All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably. Income from charitable activities includes income received under contract or where entitlement to grant funding is subject to specific performance conditions and is recognised ad earned.Grant income included in this category provides funding to support performa nce activities and is recognised where entitlement, certai nty of receipt and the amount can be measured with reasona ble certainty. Income received to deliver services over a specified period covering more than one financial year is accounted for over the specif led period; related expenditure is accounted for when incurred. Investment Income relates to Interest earned through holding assets on deposlt. Expenditure Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expend iture, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits wi I I be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accrua15 basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year end date are noted as a commitment but not accrued as expenditure.
