## **Report from the Woodlands School Charitable Trust (the 'Trust') (1 September 2021 – 31 August 2022)**

## **Points to note:**

## **Submission to the Full Governing Body of Woodlands School of the accounts and independent examiner’s report**

A copy of the accounts and independent examiner’s reports for the period from 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2022 have been circulated to the trustees of the Trust, together with the agenda for the meeting of the Trust's trustees to be held at 2pm on Monday 5 December 2022.

The accounts and the report will be considered by the trustees present at that meeting. If the accounts are approved by the required majority of trustees, they will be signed on behalf of the Trust.

The accounts and this annual report of the Trust will be tabled for approval at a virtual meeting of the Full Governing Body of Woodlands School which is scheduled to be held at 6.00pm on Thursday 8 December 2022.

## **The Trustees**

A minimum of five trustees are required under the trust deed for the Trust.

There are currently six trustees of the Trust - Cathy Ellis, Chris Richards, Rosie Clark, Richard Harrold, Karen Thomas and Sarah Smith.

## **Fundraising projects**

The purpose of the Trust is 'to advance the education of the pupils at Woodlands School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities (not required to be provided by the local authority) for education at the school'.

The Upper School outdoor classroom was completed during the course of the year. The project was fully funded as further successful bids were made to St Faith’s (£20,000) and Baily Thomas (£19,000 ). The opening ceremony took place in June 2022 and all contributors were invited.

The Trust has also received donations in respect of the project to provide a canopy and soft pour external flooring for the Badgers & Foxes classes in the lower school.

At the end of the financial year, the Trust had around £90,000 cash at bank. However, just over £63,000 of this is earmarked for the Badgers & Foxes outside space project.
