## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2021**
The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the year ended 30 September 2021.
## **Objects of the charity**
The charity, which is a church, is governed by a constitution. The charity's principal objects, as set out in its governing document, are: The Trust seeks to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, praying for the sick, helping the poor, teaching the scriptures and offering counselling support. The Trust operates mainly in and around the Bromley area.
## **Summary of the charity's main activities and achievements**
See Appendix for review of activities during the year.
## **Financial review**
During the year income decreased by £17,600, to £81,800, and expenditure decreased by £13,500, to £72,000. As a result the cash held by the charity increased by £9,800, to £72,200, of which £56,450 is unrestricted and can be used for any charitable purpose.
## **Reserves policy**
The trustees have determined that the charity should aim to hold unrestricted cash of no less than £21,000 (which equates to about 3 months' of unrestricted expenditure) so that the charity could continue to operate should income and / or expenditure vary adversely. At the year end, the charity held unrestricted cash of £56,450 and the charity is complying with its reserves policy.
## **Governance**
Responsibility for setting policy and for making operating decisions rest with the trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the charity. Responsibility for the day to day operation of the charity has been delegated to department heads. New trustees are recruited and appointed by recommendation and nomination in agreement by trustees.
## **Responsibilities of trustees**
Charity law requires us as Trustees to prepare financial statements for each accounting year which record the receipts and payments of the charity for the year.
We are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable us to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011.
We also have a responsibility to safeguard the assets of the charity and to take reasonable steps to prevent fraud or any other irregularities.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of New Creation Church London ('the charity') for the year ended 30 September 2021 on pages 4 to 6 following.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the 2011 Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **1 Accounting policies**
The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis and comprise a statement that shows the charity's receipts and payments, a statement that summarises the charity's assets and liabilities and related notes. The accountancy profession have determined that only accounts prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards present a 'true and fair' view and, as these receipts and payments accounts have not (and cannot) be prepared in accordance with accounting standards, these accounts do not present (and are not intended to present) a 'true and fair' view of the charity's financial activities and state of affairs.
General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity. Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees for particular purposes. Restricted funds are donations which are to be used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors; they include donations received from appeals for specific activities or projects.

## **3 Transactions with related parties**
Alan Vance served as a church leader and was paid £25,000 [2020: £25,000] respectively for serving in that capacity, not for serving as a trustee. Lydia Vance, spouse of trustee Alan Vance, received a salary of £10,000 [2020: £10,000] in her role as Administrator. The above payments are permitted by the charity's governing document.

The Metro Children fund relates to donations given for the children's ministry of the church. The Kingdom Builders fund relates to donations given for the purpose of funding specific community events to alleviate child poverty.

## **2. REPORT**
The trustees present their report for the year ended 30 September 2021.
## **2.1. Structure, governance and management**
The Trustees who served during the year were:

Deji Bajomo
Michael McLean
George Asampong
The Trustees are assisted in the day to day activities of the church by heads of various departments who have responsibility for running their own areas.
At the end of December 2020 Michael Maclean resigned from being a trustee after 6 years of generous service to the church. He continues to volunteer in the children’s ministry.
The church is a member of the Evangelical Alliance since February 2016, member No. 238503
## **2.2. Objectives and activities:**
1. The church continued to perform its functions and main objectives from 1[st] October 2020 – 30[th] September 2021, advancing the Christian faith and engaging with the local community through its outreach activities, and supporting those who are in need.
2. Promoting good health including the provision of counselling and support as the Trustees and senior leadership team from time to time may think appropriate.
The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit to decide what activities the charity should undertake and in particular, the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion.
The charity undertakes a number of activities in order to achieve these objectives which are summarised below.

## **2.3. NCCL – Sunday Services**
Due to COVID-19 pandemic and national lockdowns since March 2020 the church has been conducting its Sunday services online through zoom live meetings. The meetings are recorded and available on Podcast during the week. The average attendance at the live meetings is 25 members, including the youth. In addition to the main Sunday service, midweek online prayer meetings are held occasionally on Wednesdays.
## **2.4. Metro Kids**
Our Children’s Ministry is for children up to the age of 11. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and national restrictions, our regular Sunday services for the kids has been conducted on Zoom since October 2020. We have continued to deliver learning activities aimed at developing their creative skills as well as their emotional and spiritual well-being. Online safeguarding measures are in place and we ensure that parents are in attendance during the meetings. An average of 8 children attend the meetings regularly.
## **2.5. Kingdom Builders**
Kingdom Builders was launched in October 2019 as an initiative to raise additional monies for the church to fund specific community projects to alleviate child poverty. A total of £16,574.89 has so far been raised in donations and we have funded school projects across the local community up to the sum of £4,000.00

Meetings began with the Sparkworks team: (Sparkworks is a project of DGO Foundation who support organisations that commit resources and invest in young people and children.)
Sparkworks assisted in the implementation of a series of projects for Kingdom Builders, and to help map out an attainable and measurable strategy. On this basis, Metro Foundation and Metro Food a project of Metro Foundation was established to be funded by donations from Kingdom Builders.

In December 2020, the primary aim was to provide food and selection boxes for children and families within areas of our borough that had come to our attention with high needs. We planned to do this via schools in connection with the Head Teachers, and we purchased Tote Bags to use for Christmas Hamper Food Bags. In the same month, we delivered food and Cadburys £1 Selection boxes to 3 schools:
- St Mary’s – Swanley,
- St John’s – Penge and
- St Anthony’s – Anerley
Each school received 30 Christmas Food Hamper Bags which contained 22 items of food – value of approx. £16-20 each, plus a selection box for each child in the school. Total of selection boxes – 489. Each one personally gift wrapped. All free of charge.
## March 2021 (Operation Easter Egg)
A total of 2,025 £1.00 Easter eggs was delivered to 7 schools, including our own Church family’s children. The schools were:
- Hextable Primary – Hextable,
- Horizon Primary – Swanley,
- St Mary’s COE – Swanley,
- Crokenhill Primary – Crokenhill,
- James Dixon Primary – Anerley,
- St Anthony’s Catholic Primary – Anerley, and
- St John’s COE – Penge.
Each child received an Easter egg with the Emoji Easter Story booklet and a message of hope from Metro Foundation.

Morrison’s Supermarket in Welling (through their Community Champion liaison officer) arranged for us the purchase and delivery to our organisation a total of 1,694 Easter Eggs at a discounted price. We were all working together to bring hope to our communities.
## August 2021
In August our co-ordinator of Metro Foundation obtained an e-learning certificate in Food Safety Level 2. This was to ensure that all future measures in dealing with food and handling of food items at work is done safely and hygienically.
## September 2021
Operation School Uniform (Donation from church member.)
School uniform, shoes and other essential items were purchased and delivered to St John’s School in Penge to the value of £999.79.
## **2.6. Remembrance Service**
Our annual Remembrance Service for 2020 was postponed due to Covid restrictions, we planned to hold the service the following year in December 2021
## **2.7. 21 Days Prayer and Fasting**
We began the year in January 2021 with our annual 21 days of Prayer and Fasting. This event is optional to all who wished to participate. Midweek prayer meetings were also held on Wednesdays and Fridays during this period to pray for one another, our local community and the Country.
## **2.8. Bubble Groups**
During the COVID-19 lockdown, whilst government started to reduce restrictions, church member families were encouraged by the church to meet once a month in their homes in small bubble groups during the online Sunday services. The aim was to encourage face to face fellowship and prepare a gradual return to normal. Government regulations were followed through out these periods in order to maintain the limits of people allowed to meet together from different households.
