encouraged them Into tryln8 new thln85 and find solutlons tothe problems they were facln8. We
challenged their thinking and started to encourage them to think in a different way about thelr Ilves.
The youn8 people have enjoyed themselves and had fun In the actlvltles.

positlve lifestyle not only Saves the publit spending but for the young person can be a turnin8 point to
a better1Sfe.
The support work enables young people to meet with our community and youth worker to talk about
the issues that affect and influence their lives. A support plan is put in place and a8reed by our staff
member and the young person. A caseload of around five young people is carried at a time.
Issues discussed with young people indude drug use, unemployrnent, trainln& family problems and the
next progression for their live5.
Paddle Bo•rdln8
We received fijnding from the local Goole Flelds Communlty Windfarm Trust to purchase kayaks,
paddle boards and instructor time to prowde water sports aLtivities for the local community. We
based these actlvltles on the Aire and Calder Canal in Goole.
We provlded three days of water sport activitles for local youn8 people in the summer holldays. We
had a Paddle board instructor joln us for these sessions. Particlpants did learn new skills and have fun.
When paddle boardins most did manage to stand up and gain confidence by goin8 alon8the canal.
The Instrurtor that we used was excellent. He is very experienced and considered health and safety,
the 5kllls of the partlclpants and how to coach the session to a posltive outcome.

se55ions have seen up to 20 families attending. We are very pleased with the work we have
undertaken In the first year.
Falth •nd Bellef
Re8arding Jdvanclry the Chrfsllan f•lth we have also spoken to youn8 people about the Chrlstlan
faith, wlth many young people asking que5tlons aboul our Chrlstian fatth and belief. Most have never
had the opportunlty to talk to Christians before and find it interesting to ask questions about life, the
world and faith. It was good to answer questions and talk wlth the youn8 people who come Into the
session5.
The youn8 people have a choice to talk wlth us ab￿t faith and bellef. If youn8 people do not vRnt to
talk wlth us then that is their choice.
Eight volunteers have been involved in the work of New Life Support. These volunteers have been
