Raise money for widows and Orphans in Zimbabwe. We concentrate on fund raising here in the UK. We have a few donors who contribute by Monthly standing orders mainly by word of mouth and a few one off donations. Helping Hands Watford Ltd supports the Charity by donations. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** They have extended the preschool up to Year 5 now in Zimbabwe to educate children and are hoping to extend this further. We have acquired more land and there is a plan to build up to secondary school and our hope is to progress each year. We continue to supply reading books, charts and other education materials for the school that are either bought or donated by patrons who support the charity. We pay towards the running costs of the school including staff salaries. Unfortunately, the current scenario in Zimbabwe hasn’t changed much plus the added problems due to Covid-19 is not helping either, which results in the school depending mainly on donations from our Charity. A big Thank you to Helping Hands Watford Ltd as they continue to fund Friends of Tariro, which has enabled us complete building another block. We have also bought a truck costing 18000 USD. TAR 3 2022 Section D Achievements and performance I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all, our faithful partners and for your prayers and continued support for us. I thank God for all the miracles and all the works taken place, we could not have done it without all your prayer and support! God has His hand on Kazingizi. Praise the LORD!!! ## **Below are a few pictures from the Tariro school:** There are currently 141 children in the school. We can all agree that the Lord has granted us just as much over the years as Friends of Tariro has ever needed and ever will need by His Grace. Praise His Name!!! Feeding programmes for the needy TAR 8 2022 Section D Achievements and performance Rudo Gray on the right with Zvareveshe, the Accounts and General Manager of the school, Pastor Kudzunai Kabunze (KK), Persistence, the school head who has now unfortunately left the school. She did great work to improve the school standard and brought good morale to the school. We thank God for her contributions which leaves another responsibility for the team to search for a new School head. Rudo Gray has to travel back to Zimbabwe in February 2023 to help them find and employ a new School head. At the Graduation in December 2022, there was people from other Government schools and also the Ministry of Education who were impressed with the standards and how the school is progressing which I, Rudo Gray was very proud of with what we have achieved so far through our supporters and Helping Hands Watford Ltd. We thank God! The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019). ## OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES ## Objectives and aims Supporting sickness, hardship and education for widows and orphans in Zimbabwe. ## Public benefit Support of aiding orphans in Zimbabwe via trustees and other people suitably passionate in the work. Raise money for widows and Orphans in Zimbabwe We concentrate on fund raising here in the UK. Donors contribute by Monthly standing orders mainly by word of mouth and one off donations. We have also built a pre-school in Zimbabwe to educate children. We sent a container full of books and other materials for the school. Furthermore we have built a fish farm, so that children can have protein in their diets. We also have bought an incubator for chickens from South Africa. The above image is of our newly built pre-school. The children are so proud to be wearing the uniform of their new pre-school. They are in class in in this image. All money raised is spent in Zimbabwe. Our endeavour is to extend the school so that the children won't leave until they finish school. We are feeding the children also. Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act'). In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act. ## Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. ACCOUNTING POLICIES ## Basis of preparing the financial statements The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. ## Income All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably. ## Expenditure Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. ## Taxation The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities. ## Fund accounting Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements. ## Covid-19 Since March 2020, the world has been impact by a global pandemic, COVID-19. The short or long term impact to the charity is unknown. ## 2.
