the furtherance of such other charltable purpose5 as are exclusively charitable under
the laws of England and Wales as the trustees in their absolute discretion declde,
particularly but not exclusively by the provision of 8rants.
By a lease dated 28 April 2014, the lighthouse was leased by Orfordness Lighthouse Company
Limited to the charity for a term of 10 years at an annual rent of £1.
The income of the charity is derived from donations.
Review of actNities-
When the lighthouse was dismantled during the summer of 2020 the lantern room and other
key artefacts in the lighthouse were saved. They now belong to the trustees and are being kept
safe at the site of Cobra Mist Limited on Orfordness.
The trustees had hoped that it would be possible to incorporate the lantem room and other
artefacts in a building on a suitable site on Orfordness, as a memorial to the lighthouse.
However, after taking into account the substantial cost of building a new structure, strong
enough to support the lantern room, the difficulties of raising sufficient funds and obtaining
planning permission and the limited public access, it has become clear that this is not a project
which would be either appropriate or possible for the trustees to take on. There are limited
cash funds in the trust and it is likely that the trustees will decide to bring the trust to an end by

distributing the remaining funds to worthwhile local charities in line with the charitable objects
of the trust.
The lantern room and other artefarts will remain on the Cobra Mist Limited site on Orfordness
under the care of Nicholas Gold WI￿ intends to finance the construttion of a fitting memorial to
the lighthouse, to include the artefacts. on Orfordness.
Trustees, policies-
Risk management- the trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity
is exposed. They are satisfied that there are no risks given that the liththouse has been
dismantled and the visits have ceased.
Reserves - the trustees do not consider that there is a need for a reserves pollcy. The remaining
cash funds held in the charity are likely to be distributed to worthwhile local charities.
