## **2. Structure, governance and management**

The Bethel Reformed Baptist Church Charity continues to aim to support the work of the Church which meets at Nash Mills Village Hall, Lower Rd, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 8RT and is known as ‘Bethel Reformed Baptist Church’. At the founding and Constitution the Church adopted the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689. The Church has a defined membership of believers, who are baptised by immersion. The Church holds a minimum of three Church Member’s Meetings a year, presided over by our Pastor, Chalan Hetherington. Special Church Meetings may be called as required. A list of the current membership is available on request.

The Church Meetings of Bethel Reformed Baptist Church are the properly constituted means for conducting all the business and affairs of the Church. The minutes of these meetings are private. Some examples of matters arising at our Church Meetings are: The appointment of Trustees, the election of Church Officers, applications for Church membership, disciplinary matters, financial matters and reports, planning of activities, allocation of funds for Missionary support, Sunday School, Sunday and Midweek Worship Services, and benevolence aid.

The Pastor has the final decision on the appointment of Trustees.

The principal object of the Charity is the advancement of the Christian faith according to Baptist principles and in accordance with the Basis of Faith as stated in Schedule 1.

## **3. Financial Review**

Our main source of income is derived from regular gifts of the Membership and congregation. The primary areas of expenditure are: Hall hire of premises, support of our Pastor for Ministry work, grants to overseas ministries, remuneration for visiting ministers and the assistance of needy individuals through a Discretionary Fund. At present we do not hold any special reserves.

## **4. Funds held as custodian trustee on behalf of others**

The Trustees do not act as custodians.

## **5. Objectives and activities**

_(Charities that are not subject to a statutory audit requirement may limit their disclosures within this section to a summary of the charity’s objects as set out in its governing document and to providing a brief summary of the main activities undertaken in relation to those objects)._

## Bethel Reformed Baptist Church

## **Trustees Report with Accounts and Independent Examiner Report**

The objective of Bethel Reformed Baptist Church Charity is the spread of the Christian Religion. The main activities are: Sunday worship Services, Sunday prayer meetings, Midweek Services, Sunday School for Children, Open Air Ministry and regular Evangelistic outreach work, monthly Young Peoples Meetings. Raising money to support Missionary Work and Gospel Evangelism.

## **6. Achievements and performance**

This last year by Gods help and enabling we have been able to support and increase our financial giving to a number of important Christian charities and organisations in the United Kingdom. We have also been able to help and support local families that attend our services, by giving them practical help, and spiritual guidance with sound Biblical advice where needed. The Church continues to run a weekly Sabbath School (Sunday School), a monthly Young People’s meeting, and also a men’s meetings. In addition, we hope to continue a regular monthly Care Home Service for the elderly at Watermill Care Home, Nash Mills. The Open-Air Street ministry on Thursdays and Saturdays continues weekly also with much encouragement. We volunteer and help at the Village Hall where we meet and we are a very active part of the community.

This year the Church has appointed a Deacon, to help in the practical affairs of the Church running and organisation. The Deacon is also now a Trustee.
