## **Jesmond Community Forum Annual Report & Minutes of Annual General Meeting Held at Jesmond Library on 10 September 2024** 

**Present:** Marjorie Dodds (St. Hilda’s Church), Ray Hayes (Friends of Jesmond Old Cemetery), Fiona Clarke (Jesmond Community Orchard), David Houpt (Trustee), Dave Cross (Chair JCF), Chris Clarke (Treasurer JCF), Susan Carr (Holy Name Church), Richard Taylor (West Jesmond Allotments), Adam Wilkinson (Jesmond Methodist Church), Janet Wilson (St. George’s Church), Alex Head (Resident), Peter Breakey (Jesmond Library/JCIC), Pat Hughes (Bell’s Yard), Mathew Brindley (Volunteering Matters, Volunteer Centre Newcastle), Barbara Trevitt (Jesmond Library).

## **1. Welcome** 

Dave Cross welcomed everyone to the meeting. 

## **2. Minutes of AGM held on 19 October 2023** 

These were accepted as a correct record of the meeting. 

**3. Chair’s Report** 

Dave Cross was proud of the Jesmond Community Festival and the way groups in the area came together to produce this event.  This demonstrates how effective and successful the Forum is.  We continue to disseminate and share information and this is undertaken by our Secretary, Felicity Mendelson, and is an important part of the work of the Forum.  Felicity is unwell and is not able to attend this evening but we send her our best wishes and thanks for the hard work she does.  We also produced our annual Jesmond Calendar and the photographs used came from local people in the community. 

**4. Treasurer’s Report** 

Chris Clarke reported that financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023 were circulated and approved earlier in the year.  The current amount in our bank account is £4112. 

**5. Appointment of Trustees** 

In accordance with the terms of the JCF constitution, Felicity Mendelson and David Houpt stood down as Trustees, both were willing to continue and were re-elected as Trustees unanimously. Our current Trustees are: David Houpt, Chris Clarke, Dave Cross, Pat Hughes, Marjorie Dodds, Felicity Mendelson and Tanya Pretswell. 

Dave Cross informed the meeting that we are always interested in welcoming further Trustees and anyone interested should get in touch.

_Jesmond Community Forum has no Fixed Assets and all its Current Assets are all lodged in its bank accounts. At 31 December 2022 it held two current accounts, with Lloyds and Barclays, but during 2023 the Lloyds account was closed, and the total balance transferred to Barclays._
