Trustee Report April 2023 to March 2024
This year started off well with bookings for various power boat courses. We were then informed by Canals and River Trust that essential maintenance was needed on the sluice gates on the Resovoir dam. This would mean draining the water from the Resovoir, which will affect every organisation on the harp. They estimated the time frame of 6 months to complete the works, removal of the 150-year-old lifting chains etc. Works would start in October 2023 to the end of February 2024 (actual end day 14[th] June 2024 ).
In 2019 the association (WHSA) agreed to a rent holiday for 5 years, this has help us by saving £3,000 this year. 2020-2021 year 1, 2021-2022 year 2, 2022-2023 year 3 2023-2024 year 4, 2024-2025 year 5. It appear that I have made a mistake in when payments to the association start, it would be second half of 2024.
We scheduled 1 RYA Start Powerboating course per month, of which we had almost full courses for the ones we ran.
The club house has been hired on occasion to run First Aid and Water safety management courses.
Moneys coming into the club are from the trustees, some RYA courses, renting out of the building, the electricity bill and part building insurance from the WHSA as RSBB now pay the full bill and cross charge back for the use of the garage insurance. These monies i.e., all the outgoings over the past years will need to be paid back to the trustees at some point.
