4. Achievements and Performance
This year, The Oratory Primary School Association of Parents and Friends successfully raised £57,597.61 through various fundraising events. These funds were used to purchase various types of equipment for classrooms and the playground, fund school trips, and contribute towards the cost of the school library refurbishment. The funds raised were also used to fund various summer and Christmas activities for the students and the school staff.
Parental engagement has been strong, with a good number of volunteers supporting an increased number of events throughout the year.
5. Financial Review
The Oratory Primary School Association of Parents and Friends maintained a positive financial position throughout the year. Total income amounted to £57,597.61, while expenditure was £50,844.26, resulting in a net surplus of £6,753.35. The closing balance stands at £41,358.85.
Reserves Policy: The Oratory Primary School Association of Parents and Friends aims to maintain a minimum reserve of £14,000 to ensure continued support for school initiatives in the upcoming year.
The longstanding issue with access to the Metro Bank account was finally concluded following an email from the Chair to Metro Bank on 29 February 2024. This email enabled the bank account to be closed and the balance of £18,652.20 was transferred to the Lloyds Bank account on 22 April 2024.
6. Plans for the Future
With the increased number of 2024 fundraising activities resulting in the higher than normal surplus in the bank account we will reduce the focus on fundraising activities throughout 2025. The core events will continue to take place and we will work closely with the Oratory Primary School to identify the key areas that the funds raised to date can be used to support. The restoration of the school hall floor has long been talked about as a future project which is something that we are keen to provide our support with.
7. Declaration
The trustees declare that they have approved this Trustees’ Annual Report.
