I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2021.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention ~~(other than that disclosed below~~ *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

Committee are all volunteers as are the
members who run the BSLSC events,

Para 1.20 Despite COVID restrictions we
continued to run training session online
later returning to the beach & pool.
We increased our membership as we
came out of COVID restrictions with
more young people and adults gaining
experience in sea safety and lifeguard
training. We held voluntary lifeguard
patrols to support Brighton & Hove City
Council making particular use of our
inshore rescue boats to make several
interventions. We also trained to a
recognised international Lifeguard
Qualification 28 new lifeguards many of
whom went on to work for the RNLI and
city council on the beach.
Club trainers also taught basic life
support to outside community groups .

Lottery investment) saw much greater

taking part went on to compete and
represent their club and city in national

position remained strong with closing cash
of £51,311 (includes reserves £10,598).
Total income of £36,115 was received in
the year of which membership income
contributed £25,628. Grant income
received was £1,300.
Total costs of £21,184 were incurred
including payments to Brighton Sailing Club
for rent of club facilities £3,663 and pool
hire £2,061.
In addition, the SLSGB membership costs
were £4,025 and course fees of £2,635.
During the year the club purchased
equipment to the value of £1,442 and
incurred repairs to equipment of £932.
