The Board of Iruslees administers Ihe charity on a voluntary basis and
meets quarterly. Trustees are nominated, seconded and then appointed
by the Board. New Board members are supplied with an induction pack
which includes a job description and key information regarding the
financial position and future prograrnme of the charity.
Operational management of the charity is delegated by the trustees to the
senior management team, which during the yearwas made up as follows..

TO PROMOTE RESEARCH {INCLUDING RESEARCH IN THE ARTS AND
PARTICULARLY THEART OF DRAMA) AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL
RESULTS THEREOF FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT ANDASSOCIATED
MATERIAL CONNECTED TOTHEARTSAS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT
FROM TIME TO TIME.

Summary of the objects of the

The charity's activities typically include.. devising, rehearsing and
performing high quality touring Ihealrical pioduclions, programming an
inclusive theatre festival. and running Weekly Inclusive Theatre Skills
Sessions {WITSS). also known as Inler-Acl - programme of theatre
skills workshops whose key beneficiaries and participants include those
with learning disabililies and recurring mental health difficulties. Interact
has continued lo grow and provide opportunities to participate.
FEAST has attracted several disability groups to participate. There
was a week long festival of theatre in November, which included
projections in town and work by local community groups. working with
and alongside national and international artists.
We confirm thal the Tnjslees have had regard to the Charity
Commissions guidance on public benefit.

As well as the Trustees. Reaction Theatre Makers are fortunate lo have
the regular support of over 17 volunteers from the local community who
help to deliver our projects and manage our events. The charity is very
grateful for Iheii valuable contribution. FEAST, as ever, needs extra
support, especially as il continues lo grow each year.
During the year we have engaged with funding consultants, Debbie
Birch and Keith Slaler. and have sought mentoring from Slrike A Light
Festival.

during the year
During the year Reaclion Theatre Makers:
Expansion of face-tO*face sessions including additional weekly session of
Inter-Act
We continue to support students from the Theatre and Disability rnodule
al University of Worcester. some of whom volunteer further for the charity.
Mental health group-Archelype- continues to grow and perfonned to
larger audiences.
Held another week long festival of theatre including workshops.
performances and films.
FEAST 2023. also attended by Settled Families from both Syria and the
Ukraine.
Researched productions and perfomiers from around the UK lo bring to
the Malvern theatre scene. Visiled Stockton International Riverside
Feslival lo start planning our own Street Theatre Festival, which will pilot
in 2024.
Public beneflt ststement
In planning the year's activities and setting objectives, the trustees have
considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit,
induding the guidance on public benefit and fee charging.
The chaiity relies on grants and the income from touring and admission
charges lo cover ils operating costs. In setting the level of fees, charges
and concessions. the Iruslees give careful consideration to the
accessibility of the charitys productions for those on low incomes.

offers opportunities Ihrough professional pr(Kluclions.
Those who may be socially excluded or al risk of social exclusion,
as the Adults with Learning Disabilities and adulls with recurring
mental health difficulties programmes are aimed specifically at
these groups.
FEAST has begun to allract a wide range of organisations
supporting those with Learning Disabilities.

Settled Families (Ukrainian and Syrian}
Those affected by homelessness.

Financial review
While the organisalion is not required lo have a reserves policy the
trustees recognise that. while most project work is carried out using
restricted funds, the day to day operations and cashflow management
necessitate that a nominal amount of reserves is held in the bank at any
one lime. At Ihe end of 2023 we had reserves which the trustees
consider satisfactory for these needs.

independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility lo.
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,

Charity Commission (under section 145(51{b) of Ihe Charities Art, and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given
