The committee oversee the day to day running of club. The committee comprise: Chair Secretary Treasurer Welfare Officer All club coaches and volunteers must have Safeguarding and DBS certificates. All club coaches must be on the British Fencing coach register and be members of British Fencing for insurance purposes. The club must be a member British Fencing. No major risks identified. Loss of assets covered by insurance. |

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities, equipment and coaching for the sport of fencing. Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

The main activity is to run a fencing club for the local area.
The club:
-
Provides a safe and friendly environment for fencers to learn and develop irrespective of their skills and abilities.
-
Offers free beginner courses to attract new members.
-
Provides the facilities, equipment and coaching for three sessions per week, 50 weeks per year.
-
Coaches provide class and individual lessons free of charge for fencers who have a desire to improve.

Attracts experienced fencers from outside the local area to improve the ability of local fencers.

Allows fencers to use the club kit free of charge for as long as necessary to keep the cost of participation as low as possible.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
In March 2021, 11 fencers entered the British Youth Championship (BYC) qualification competition. All 11 of them qualified for the National Competition in May 2021. Six of these fencers competed at two other competitions.
In August 2021, two of our teenage fencers qualified as level 1 epee coaches, including first aid at work. Senior competitions were only just restarting and some of our fencers participated.
During the post covid period, the club ran free taster sessions at a temporary venue, which has expanded the children’s session by 20 to 25.
