## – **True Jesus Church Sunderland Annual Report 1st October 2022 30th September 2023** Charity Name: True Jesus Church Sunderland Registered Charity Number: 1155691 Charity's Principal Address: Dundas Street, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, SR6 0AY ## **Names of the charity trustees who manage the charity (elected and approved by the Members General Meeting - MGM):** - Mr Sam Tai Chan - Religious Affairs Officer (2023–2025) - Mr Yee Shing Ho - Financial Affairs Officer (2023–2025) - Mr Eddie Yuk Wa Chan - Religious Affairs Officer (2023–2025) The church consists of 206 congregational members of these there are 5 deacons, 9 church board members, 4 of whom are UKGA church representatives. ## **Objectives and Activities** To advance the gospel of Jesus Christ for the benefit of the public in accordance with the following doctrines of the Holy Bible: - One True God - One True Church - Water Baptism - Receiving the Holy Spirit - Footwashing - Holy Communion - The Holy Sabbath ## **Activities in support** - Providing services of worship, prayer and fellowship - Religious Education teaching - Facilities to allow believers to practice their faith and follow the doctrines - Providing and mailing available literature explaining doctrines ## **Main activities undertaken during 2022** – **2023** Service Arrangements - Sunday Prayer - Sunday Service - Religious Education Classes - Harmony and Unity Choir - Sisters Fellowship - Interpretation Training - Evangelical Planning Group Training - Tuesday Hymnal and Prayer Session - Wednesday Service - Youth Fellowship - Sabbath Services - Sabbath Fellowship These regular events are open to all who would like to participate, we welcome visitors to join and observe the Sabbath with us throughout the year as well as in attending fellowships and other activities. ## **Other church events and activities** - Spiritual & Evangelical Convocation* - Evangelical Service* - Member’s Annual General Meeting - New Year Service - RE Teachers Seminar - RE End of Year Service *Leaflets, posters and invites were made available for congregational members to distribute to friends and relatives prior to the event and also given out to members of the public during leafleting sessions. The other events were for the encouragement and cultivation of members. Visitors and truth seekers however have also participated in these events with positive feedback. ## **Church Hosting** - UKGA & Delegates Conference 20–22 November 2022 - Annual General Meeting 25 December 22, Extraordinary General Meeting 11 March 2023 - New Year Service 1 January 2023 - National Brothers fellowship 6 March 2023 - Choir exchange with True Jesus Church Newcastle on 19 March 2023 - Evangelical Service* 1 April 2023 - National RE Teacher Training for English Speakers 21–23 April 2023 (online attendees from local church) - National Youth Fellowship May 2023 - Central Region RE Teacher Training in person/online 25 June 2023 - Local Spiritual Convocation& Evangelical services 2–4 July 2023 - National Student’s Spiritual Convocation Junior Class 23 – 27 July 2023 - RE Teachers Seminar – Chinese online/Sunderland September 2023 - RE End of Year Service 10 September 2023 ## **Visits by Divine Workers** - Preacher Nissi Chin(current resident pastor) - Preacher Daniel Liewsupporting NSSC July 2023 in person - Preacher FF Chong for UKGA meetings, pastoral care and support to YCC fellowships - Preacher Raymond Leacock for UKGA meetings, support to YCC fellowships - Preacher Steven Shek for UKGA meetings, pastoral care and support to YCC fellowships/Central Region RE Teacher Training These divine workers may take the opportunity to undertake home visits to members as well as regular truth seekers during the course of their stay. **Continuation of 2020** – **2022 Church Board for term (last term in office)and new term 2023-2025** - Eddie Chan - Sam Tai Chan - Shui Ying Chan - Tony Chan - Winston Chan - Norma Ho - Yee-Shing Ho - Justin Leung - Sonny Shek ## **Maintenance of the church building** The maintenance agreed by the MGM continued into this financial year. The maintenance and renewals costs was £28,433.86 (which is detailed in the enclosed financial statement) ## **Financial Review** All monies are from the donation of the members and visitors. Please also see enclosed financial statement for the year 2022-2023. ## **Brief Statement of the charity's policy on reserves** There is no actual policy on reserve funding. There is a backup fund (savings account) where money can be drawn from if needed. Transfers from the savings account to the church current account require agreement by the church board. It is within the church board’s ability to agree transactions up to £15,000 (agreed in AGM 2023) as necessary without consultation with the MGM.
