|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|The year 2020 / 21 has been<br>overshadowed by the covid-19 pandemic<br>and we have needed to adjust our<br>approach in the light of both Government<br>instruction and advice from FIEC to whom<br>we are affiliated<br>Our purposes have not wavered and we<br>have been creative in using the<br>opportunities that we have identified<br>adopting a hybrid approach of meeting in<br>person where we can and using technology<br>to ensure we reach our existing members<br>and congregation and those looking to<br>access to explore the Christian faith.<br>Livestreaming of our services has in fact<br>furthered our purposes beyond what we<br>might have normally expected and we are<br>planning to continue with virtual<br>opportunities as part of our general<br>operations<br>We are delighted that we have been able to<br>meet either in person or virtually on every<br>Sunday of this past year and we have in<br>the same way been able to provide for our<br>young people through dedicated material<br>on youtube when not meeting in person, in<br>family services and also in person when<br>allowed<br>We have met weekly for prayer, again<br>largely online and have been able to run<br>some midweek meetings using the zoom<br>platform.|





|||The work with Christians against poverty<br>has continued and our Mums and Toddlers<br>group has met both virtually and in person<br>Our support of individuals and<br>organisations who carry out mission<br>activities locally, nationally and<br>internationally has continued unabated.<br>This has included Friends International,<br>Youth for Christ and Tearfund.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Surrey Chapel exists to impact and<br>enhance lives both spiritually and<br>practically; we have continued to focus on<br>this through our core activities and in<br>addition have reached out to the local<br>community in practical ways<br>We hold a morning worship service and<br>this has been online only when necessary<br>and then in person / livestreamed<br>whenever this option has been available. In<br>recent months, we have moved to a two<br>service morning format to allow for all those<br>wishing to attend under the restriction of<br>social distancing. We believe that we have<br>continued to reach around 300 people<br>during a typical month. We have been<br>amazed by random communication from<br>people accessing our services with whom<br>we have had no previous contact.<br>We have maintained our youth work initially<br>online, then with family services. There has<br>been huge creativity and around 40<br>youngsters (up to 10 years old) attending.<br>We have run Christianity explored online.<br>Our fortnightly Connect Groups have been<br>meeting online and these have served to<br>really keep people connected through a<br>period of unprecedented separation and in<br>some cases isolation and loneliness.<br>Our work in advice and job search<br>Christians against poverty has continued<br>and we appointed a community links<br>coordinator this year to increase profile and<br>ensure that people knew we are still<br>available to help<br>We have been delighted to reach out to the<br>local community through local schools who<br>have introduced us to families in particular<br>hardship. We have been funding shopping<br>trips to help alleviate some of those<br>difficulties that these families have faced.|
