Trustees Report for y/e 31[st] March 2026
The Trustees have met with the Leadership Team to review the activities, to receive the accounts for the year and to discuss plans for the forthcoming year.
The accounts for the year were presented and accepted and it was noted that SHCF had maintained its intention of using incoming funds, that were not required to maintain the work of the Fellowship, in the support of Christian mission and relief both in the U.K. and across the world. This support amounted to just over 26% of total donated income.
This year the Fellowship has continued to grow steadily both in terms of attendance and the range and reach of its activities. For our Sunday worship and other events, we have welcomed newcomers who are resident locally in addition to holidaymakers and those with second homes in the area. We have provided various outreach events at Easter and Christmas, the Light event at the end of October, the Tear Fund Big Quiz, and ‘SouperHub’ from November to February, where the public can enjoy a light lunch and fellowship in a warm and safe environment. In addition, we have hosted various meetings for local Christian groups.
The pathway from Fore Street to the Chapel and along the side of the building to the rear fire escape was resurfaced during the year but the repairs to the front porch have been postponed until next year due to the lack of human resources.
During the year the Fellowship decided to move from unincorporated status to becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and instructed specialist solicitors to support it through this transition over the coming months. During the year the Fellowship also undertook a review of policies, adopting formal policies covering safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, risk management, letting, mission support, weddings and finance.
The Trustees are looking forward to the coming year in respect of discipling new believers, enabling continued growth and development, and in accommodating the growing church in all its challenges. We are trusting that the Lord will continue to lead, provide for and encourage South Hams Christian Fellowship as it looks to Him for the future days.

Independent examiner’s report to the Trustees of South Hams Christian Fellowship
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of South Hams Christian Fellowship (the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2026.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charitable Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination and can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

The account records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
The accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this respect to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
