Trustees Report for y/e 31[st] March 2024
The Trustees have met with the Leadership Team to review the activities, to receive the accounts for the year and to discuss plans for the forthcoming year.
The accounts for the year were presented and accepted and it was noted that SHCF had maintained its intention of using incoming funds, that were not required to maintain the work of the Fellowship, in the support of Christian mission and relief both in the U.K. and across the world. This support amounted to just over 22% of total donated income.
The Fellowship received several gifts that reduced the loans outstanding and has been able to repay the remaining amounts loaned to it during the refurbishing work and is now debt free.
This year has seen the Fellowship progressing with getting used to being in the new environment, being available as a resource to both the Christian and the wider community, as we find the place God has intended for us as a fellowship of believers within the town of Kingsbridge.
We have been able to host various meetings and events for different Christian groups as well as providing a social enterprise ‘SouperHub’ from Dec 23- Feb 24, where the public could come to receive refreshment and fellowship in a warm and safe environment.
We undertook some further fundraising to enable some remaining works to be completed once the Listed Building Consents have been received. These will be repairs to the front porch (due to take place from May 2024), the installation of a stair-lift between floors (in place), the refurbishment of the rear garden (underway).
The Fellowship has seen further growth in attendance at services, the average congregation now having more than doubled since the days in the Parish Hall and we continue to welcome new people into the Fellowship on a regular basis. We now have a written constitution outlining the way the Fellowship is organised on Biblical principles and have established a formal Membership for those wishing to identify as part of the Fellowship on those terms.
Our outreach program to attract families continues and we have been able to establish a regular group for people wishing to explore faith and what it means to be a Christian.
The Trustees are looking forward to the coming year in respect of discipling new believers and in accommodating the growing church in all its challenges – we are trusting that the Lord will continue to lead, provide for and encourage South Hams Christian Fellowship as it looks to Him for the future days.

Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011] (‘the Act’). | report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination | have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
