This report is made on behalf of the PCC of All Saints Liverpool for the APCM 2023. Reports
from the other ministries are given in addition to this document.
2023 was another busy year for A11 Saints, and we acknowledge with gratitude the time and
commitment given by 50 many, in so rnany different area5, some seen and many unseenl
Working together in this way enables us to grow and to continue to become the place of
sanctuary, justice, community and discipleship we seek to be.
It was also On￿ again a year that brought yet again more change as we sought to appoint a
new vicar at All Saints. This process began in earnest in January and in April interviews took
place and Rev, Helen Purcell was appointed to the role. Helen's licensing took place at the
end of April and was a day of celebration for all involved.
At the beginning of May Mike began a well-earned sabbatical. and with our prayers and
blessing stepped away from the everyday pressures and busyness of life at All Saints.
A5though since Covid we recoBni5ed that our ministry had changed and developed in a
different way. We also recognised that we conts'nued to struggle in some areas. Thi5 was
particularly true in our work with children and young people. The combination of irregular
numbers of children attending and the struggle to recruit volunteers for thi5 important
ministry, meant that with great sadness we took the decision to close Sunday School. But we
give our thanks to Ann Moore, Snezana Skovina, Lynda Langerhaizen who worked tirele551y
to enable our children to learn what following Jesus was all about.

As the year drew to a tlose. we secured funding to employ a part time Chikjren's worker and
we are excited to see where this will take us.
As a church family we continue to welcome many who seek asylum from countrles across
the world. The experiences, diversity and energy they bring alongside the opportunity to
learn from each other about God and Itfe is transforniational. Alongside this sharing God's
love in our wider community wa5 once again evident throughout 2023.
In addttion tothe regular ministry of New Horizons. Pardis and the CharFty Shop, the Hub
also continued to be a place that was key providing a sanrtuary of help and care. We
thdnk Greggs for their continued supply of food, enabling us to regularly give food to those
who need wt. And thanks go to those who are inVo￿ed in o)Ilethng the food from Greggs or
distributing it at the door, with a smile and a kinij word. We also thank Irene for giving her
time every Friday to help those seeking support from the Foodbank.
ln the summerwefurther expanded ournetwork of support, when aweekty Café began
each Friday at the Parish Church. We pray that this ministry wll Erow and develop.
In September we were blessed to be joined by Tery Burke, who will be with us for three
years as part of his Ordination training. Terry has settled realty well into the ItFe of All Saints
and we look forward to seelng hls minlstry devebp in the future. David Adah aEo continued
his trdining With us, this year on a fuS1-time bas￿. Thi5 means he is able to devote time
during the v4eÈk to getsng more involved in the day to day life of the chur£h.
Christmas was a busy time. In addition to gNing food hampers out through New Horizon5.
We also, connerted wfch local sthools to identify families that would go without this year.
Over 20 families from both Phoenix and New Park schools We￿ pThided wlth gifts for the
children and all the items needed to cook a famity Christmas Dinner. The schools were
overwhelmed by the generostly of the All Saints family in providing this.
Christmas also saw our first Christmas Community Celebration, an outdoor event held at the
Worship Centre. This invohted. carol singin& Chrlstmas crafts, the opportunity to take
'selfie' at the Nativity. We were a150 joined by Santa, who provided over 75 Small gtft5 to the
children. Thank you to all those who give their time tothis. we hope we can develop this
event in the future.
Providing opportunities for us to prdy together continued to be essential. Zoom prayers took
place throughout the week and in person prayer5 in the Hub on a Thursday. We also met
together on some Sunday evenings to pray into spectfic situations both worldwide and local.
Our prayer lrfe whether corporate or individual is essential in underpinning all we do.
In terrns of fillance, along with everyone else we are struggling to make ends meet. The
rising cost of energy and everyday seryices has impacted our choices. However, we will
continue to work through this together seeking wtys to ensure we are able to Sustain ihe
ministry of the church as best we can. We continue to seek a Treasurer and would welcome
conversation with anyone who may feel ￿lled to thi5 import role.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues, we gNe thank5 forthe prackncal resour￿5 God has
provided to enable us to be a support to those that need it. Gladly. loving people need5 no
resources other than open hearts. and a willingness to see each other as Jesus does. We are
blessed at All Saints to be rich in this resource and pray it will continue to be 50.
We cannot end this report wtthout refiecling on the sad loss of Chrls Coates in Ortober
2023. Chris, own ministry at All Saints alongside that of supporting Mike In hls was central In
their live5 & the lrfe of All Saints and we give than￿ for it. We will continue to remember
Chris wlth much love and to support Mike and the family a5 they mourn her1055.
Finally, we begin to look to the future wtth the a55urance that we are In God'5 hands. There
will undoubtedly be more change and challenge5 along the way but a5 we allow God to
guide u5, we wll come to recognise Whe￿ He ￿ at work and Can step forward in faith and
love seeknng to grow God's Kingdom in all we do.

372nd Liverpool Brownies 2023
We had a very busy yearl
The girls worked hard on their Brownie programme and many achieved their
"Express
Myself" and "Skills for my Future" theme awards. We were pleased to present
some Bronze and Silver awards during the course of the year and are looking
forward to our first Gold award very soon.. I
As part of a 'Button Challenge" badge, some girls sewed their first ever button
onl This badge was great fun to do, and saw us using different button shapes
and sizes fo games, crafts, art work - and of course we didn't forget about the
edible chocolate variety.
We've also completed badges such as "The World on Your Doorstep" The
Trefoil Challenge" and "Woolly Sheep Challenge" They have provided us all
with new learning experiences and given us lots of fun along the way.
In May, some of our girls attended a PGL holiday with other members from
across Merseyside. They all had a memorable time completing an assortment
of outdoor challenges and having fun with new friends.
In June, we went to our county campsite for'seaside as Scarisbrick" where we
joined with hundreds of other members for a great day of crafts, petknng
donkeys, eating ice cream, playing on bouncy castles and in sandpits, learning
circus skills and being entertained by Punch and Judy. It was very quiet on the
bus homel
We planted bulbs in September, which were given out at Christmas as thank
you/ get well /thinking of you gifts across our church community.
In December as our end of term treat, we went to see"The Wind in the
Willows" at the Shakespeare North theatre in Prescot- a first real theatre
experience for many of our girls and hopefully not their last!
Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support, we really do appreciate itl

All Saints Music Group Report 2023
All Saint5 music group has continued to support and be an integral part of the
worship of both Parish and Worship Centre sites throughout the last twelve
months. During 2023 we were delighted to welcome Racheal.
We have managed to be more disciplined about regular practice and have tried
to institute one per month which has enabled us to learn many more new
worship songs. The invitation to come and see has also attracted members of
the congregation to witness what Is involved in working on new music and we
continue to encourage this.
The use of a dedicated WhatsApp group has been enormously helpful in
communication between ourselves and the leadership of the church not only
in planning services but with the addition of some members dry humourll Also
we would like to thank the computer operators who support US
sometimes having to alter or re-type lyrics prior to the commencement of the
service!
The Music Group is always ready to receive new members who can commit to
playing and singing regularly. Of course, they would need to talk with our
church leadership prior to coming along to a Worship Group practice.
The range of musical talent in the worship group is broad in scope but all
members sing and play from their hearts and seek to lead and inspire our
church family. Our aim is to strive to be more effective in leading worship.
The church family acknowledges the willingness of all the members of the
group who consistently give of their time and considerable talents each week.
God bless you and thank you all.

Liverpool North & Walton Deanery Synod Report 2023
The New Enlarged Deanery Synod and Deanery Leadership Team
After voting for the merging of Walton deanery with our own we met together
for the first time under our new title and various appointments were made: Bill
Addy continues as our Area Dean Iwho is an S5M at St Nicolas) assisted by Rev
Adam Maynard,. Mark Hedley and Barbara Moore (originally from Walton
Deanery) were confirmed as Lay co-chair team.
As a Deanery Synod we now represent many more churches and it was
refreshing to hear some of the interesting initiatives and ideas adopted by the
new members within this larger Deanery to further the gospel in the north of
our city during the time of Parish reports. This time gave us an opportunity to
understand the breadth and depth of our new friends from the Walton
Deanery.
Payment of Parish Share debate
Plans to unify the running of the new deanery with regard to our Parish Share
involve streamlining this payment. Both deaneries have previously done things
slightly differently when it comes to the process of paying parish share so the
new Deanery Leadership Team will put together a process to bring to Synod.
DMGF forms have already been updated. Parishes are encouraged to apply to
the fund. We would like to emphasise that all churches in the Liverpool North
Deanery have met their parish share in full up to date.
Aim for future development
The aim for now is to get the new deanery working together. The new
resource church remains our main project with the aim to reach the missing
generations111-291. It is a really exciting opportunity that well benefits the
whole deanery.

Is a God focused group and is held every Friday and is supported by myself and
a group of volunteers. It provides a ministry focused teaching session and often
personal testimonies from individuals about how Jesus has impacted their life
and how following him has changed their own lives.
We start with a teaching or testimony and then proceed to have a family style,
homemade dinner where we get to break bread together and share in
fellowship. Most of our members are suffering from addiction issues, mental
health, homelessness, language barriers and other social deprivation issues.
they are regularly accessing food bank help.
This group enables them to explore their faith in a non-pressured environment
whether they have given their life to Jesus or not. We also offer prayer ministry
and support, and we welcome anyone who comes through the door.

ASK Pantry
The Food Pantry has been doing well considering we haven't been receiving a
lot of food to distribute as the cost of living has affected donations and the
amount of surplus food available from Fareshare.
The people that take advantage of the pantry have also been able to access
help and advice from Law students who come on placements from Liverpool
University plus advice from other organisations that com regularly on a drop-in
basis.
The volunteers are wonderful and very helpful. If you would like to volunteer
please speak to one of us.
Thank you,
Celine Hay, on behalf of ASK Food Pantry.

Foodbank Report for AGM 2024
This past year has continued to be most challenging. Conditions at Harmonize
Academy forced us to close down in August 2023 due to being overrun with
mice despite our attempts at blocking holes in cupboards, keeping food in
sealed boxes and constantly cleaning cupboards.
Eventually, in mid-october, we resumed operations in our Church Building.
This took a while to set up as adjustments to our building had to be made and
Jim Huthwaite was most helpful in fitting a new light and lock on our
storeroom door. Having obtained some new cupboards, Gerry Finnegan has
put new locks and blocked holes in them to stop any further infestations.
Demand continues to increase but unfortunately people are feeling the pinch
and donations are not as plentiful as they used to be. We frequently find that
we do not receive the full amount of stock ordered, due to shortages in the
warehouse.
It is thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, that we are able to continue
this vital work. If anyone would like to volunteer, please contact me at All
Saints. We operate every Saturday mornings, arriving at 9.15am to set up and
unpack the deliveries. Our Foodbank is open to the public from 10am until 12
noon providing we have enough stock.

Guides 2023 Report
The Guides have had a busy year with a county fun day and a residential
weekend away where we had a chance to try lots of adventurous and team
building activities.
Most of the Guides gained a confectionery badge and in the summer we were
able to have lots of meeting outside. We also have been doing plenty of eco
activities on the theme of repurposing and up cycling.
