## **Financial Review**

|Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period|Para 1.21|**As at 31.12.2023 the Charity is in a**
**strong financial position. The accounts**
**show a surplus of £21,854 for the year**
**and our balance sheet is robust with**
**£153,130 in reserve across our current**
**account and various savings/**
**investment accounts.**|
|---|---|---|
|Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held|Para 1.22|**Our main sources of income are entry**
**fees paid on show day and car parking**
**revenue throughout the year.**
**It costs in the region of £65,000 to put**
**on the show.**
**Attendance on show day can vary**
**dramatically depending on the weather**
**on show day.**
**A worst case scenario would be a last**
**minute cancellation due to a flooded or**
**storm damaged site. This could easily**
**have occurred in 2024 if the storm**
**referred to above happened on the day**
**of the show and has happened to other**
**local shows. Such a situation would**
**create a significant loss, possibly as**
**high as £50,000 and more, due to fixed**
**expenditure commitments.**
**As a consequence of these**
**considerations it is felt reserves**
**sufficient to cover a minimum of two to**
**three years of such losses needs to be**
**reserved. Ie around £125,000 plus a**
**buffer.**|
