Heathfield and Waldron First Responder Scheme Annual General Meeting 2023 7 pm Tuesday 10 October 2023 On Teams (managed by Hannah Crush)

Agenda

Chairman’s AGM Report for 2023

Since lockdown, resumption of activity was at Responders’ discretion and we are grateful to the two who stepped forward during 2021 and continued to offer their services during 2022. The Trustees would record their appreciation of the continuing efforts of the team leader Hannah Crush, her predecessor Theo Parfitt who has retired as Treasurer in favour of Bronwen Laurenson, now a Trustee together with Dr Peter Venn, and trainer Andy McGarvey and the other Responders who had dedicated so much of their time to this important service to the community.

The Trustees continue to plan eventually to recruit, train and equip additional Responders to bring the operating strength of the organisation to fifteen, and have purchased defibrillators to this end. We shall concentrate on improving training with specialised equipment to meet the increasing skill-sets now demanded. We shall continue, Covid regulations permitting, to give public demonstrations of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and – though not our brief - to contribute to the installation of defibrillators within the community, an intent supported by a generous grant raised by the Co-op.

Where appropriate and agreed with the Parish Councils of Heathfield and Warbleton, we also maintain in good working order certain defibrillators in the Heathfield and Warbleton areas raised by public donation.

The requirements of the Charity Commission have been met.

The Trustees wish to record their appreciation of the continuing encouragement we receive from so many organisations within the community.
