## **H&W FR Charity Commission Report 2021** During the year 2020, lockdown due to the Covid pandemic significantly reduced all Responder activity at the request of the South East Coast Ambulance service. After lockdown, resumption of activity was at Responders’ discretion and we are grateful to the two who stepped forward during 2021. The Trustees would record their appreciation of the continuing efforts of the team leaders (Theo Parfitt who has retired as such and been succeeded by Hannah Crush; he is now Treasurer for the year 2021), their deputy Andy Bodkin who has withdrawn as a Trustee in February 2021, and trainer Andy McGarvey and the other Responders who had dedicated so much of their time to this important service to the community. The Trustees plan eventually to recruit, train and equip additional Responders to bring the operating strength of the organisation to fifteen, and have purchased defibrillators to this end. We shall concentrate on improving training with specialised equipment to meet the increasing skill-sets now demanded. We shall continue, Covid regulations permitting, to give public demonstrations of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and to contribute to the installation of defibrillators within the community, an intent supported by a generous grant raised by the Co-op. Where appropriate and agreed with the Parish Councils of Heathfield and Warbleton, we also maintain in good working order certain defibrillators in the Heathfield and Warbleton areas raised by public donation. The requirements of the Charity Commission have been met.
