Establish and run a Village hall and to promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Hermitage and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex, sexual orientation ,age, disability, nationality, race or political,  religious, or other opinions the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of youth ,age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.

During this period the main activities focussed on the provision of a venue for social and community activities, before and during Covid restrictions were enforced. 

Continuing to furnish the hall and its grounds with the essential items that can make this possible.

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

The charity has provided community benefits that include a safe venue for various clubs and associations where possible to carry on whilst adhering to government Covid 19 safeguarding guide lines. 

- Hermitage Pre school 

- Ballet and modern dance classes 

- Horticultural Society meetings 

- Wine circle 

- Boxing club 

- Yoga 

- Polling Station 

During the first lock down we also operated a West Berks food bank scheme from the hall every Wednesday for families in need, both local and some a bit further a field. 

These included 4 families in Hermitage, 2 venerable elderly people from Compton, 2 people from Leckhampstead and a mixture of 12 families and individuals from Streatley and Goring. This scheme was put into place with the help and support from Spotlight and run by an army of volunteers to put together the food parcels and deliver them around Hermitage. 

In addition the committee room is now complete and fully furnished and now fully functional as an additional venue for use by the community.

We plan to operate with sufficient reserves to support the operation of the charity for six months, once the smaller hall has been completed.

## Section F                     Other optional information 

In order to get the small hall finished and the toilet block we will actively pursuing funding from government grant schemes to hopefully get the above mentioned finished next year. This will enable us to offer the community two fully functioning halls, one large one smaller to accommodate different sized events and a committee room for meetings and smaller gatherings
